The posting

Grow Assistant

Department: Cultivation Employment Type: Full-time, non-exempt Pay: $18 per hour Schedule: 40 hours per week, generally 7:00 am–3:00 pm. Availability Monday–Sunday, including holidays and inclement weather. Consecutive days off are not guaranteed.

Verdes Cannabis is looking for a dependable, hardworking and motivated Grow Assistant to join our cultivation team. In this hands-on role, you’ll care for plants, maintain clean growing spaces and support daily cultivation operations. Reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to perform physically demanding work are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform daily plant care, including hand-watering, transplanting, pruning and spraying
  • Move plants throughout cultivation facilities
  • Identify and report pests and plant health concerns
  • Complete room and row turnovers, including cleaning and sanitation
  • Wash pots and containers and clean equipment, tools and work areas daily
  • Collaborate with cultivation, harvest and dry/cure staff
  • Follow company policies and cultivation procedures safely and accurately
  • Assist with harvesting and other duties as assigned

During your first year, responsibilities will focus primarily on transplanting, watering, pruning, harvesting and pot washing.

What We’re Looking For

  • A dependable team player with strong communication and time management skills
  • Accountability, reliable attendance and a willingness to take initiative
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety and consistent plant care
  • Comfort performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks, including dirty and wet work
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and during inclement weather as scheduled
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, this role requires the ability to:

  • Stand or remain stationary while performing repetitive tasks for up to eight hours per day
  • Repeatedly lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, climb and reach
  • Work in hot, cold, humid or confined environments and around strong odors
  • Work with live and dry plants that may irritate the skin, eyes, ears or nose
