The posting

Dietary Aide

Location: Lake Providence, LA

Pay: $10.00/HR

Schedule: Full-time (Split)

  • 4 days on/2 days off
  • Shift Times: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required

We’re looking for a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team! In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve meals while creating a clean, welcoming dining experience for our residents. Your work directly contributes to the comfort, care, and well-being of the people we serve.

What You'll Do

As a Dietary Aide, you will help ensure residents receive safe, appealing, and properly prepared meals.

  • Assist with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure plate warmers and hot base units are properly heated.
  • Verify that steam tables are heated to the appropriate temperature.
  • Ensure each meal tray contains the correct food items and accurate serving portions.
  • Use appropriate serving utensils and maintain required food temperatures.
  • Record and review food temperatures before tray-line service.
  • Ensure trays are attractively arranged and properly garnished.
  • Check that silverware, cups, dishes, and other items are clean and ready for service.
  • Make sure plate covers are clean and dry.
  • Monitor and record food preparation shortages or excesses after tray-line service and communicate concerns to the supervisor.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Food Handler’s Permit and/or ServSafe certification, as required by state regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
  • Positive and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and coworkers.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening, criminal background check, and reference check.
