Bei der Ausbildung zum/zur staatlich anerkannten Tierpfleger/in - Fachrichtung Zoo findet die Wissensvermittlung in Form von Theorie und Praxis statt - im sogenannten „Dualen System“. Die Vermittlung des theoretischen Teils erfolgt in der Paul-Ehrlich-Schule/Frankfurt am Main und wird durch einen weiteren Teil im Zoo Frankfurt am Main erweitert. Der praktische Teil wird durch den Einsatz in verschiedenen Revieren, unter der Anleitung unserer Revierleitungen und die Teilnahme am „Zooleben“ absolviert.

Was bekomme ich als Auszubildende/r für ein Gehalt?

1. Lehrjahr: 950 EUR/brutto 2. Lehrjahr: 1060 EUR/brutto 3. Lehrjahr: 1165 EUR/brutto

Qualifikationen und was Sie mitbringen sollten...

Mindestalter: 16 Jahre Gute körperliche Fitness, da unser Zoo auf einem unebenen Gelände gelegen ist Guter Hauptschulabschluss, Realschulabschluss oder Abitur Ein mehrwöchiges Praktikum in mindestens einem anderen Zoo oder Tierpark ist wünschenswert

Was kommt auf Sie zu?

Im Herbst eines Jahres fangen wir mit dem Auswahlverfahren mit den bei uns eingegangenen Bewerbungen für die Ausbildung als Tierpfleger/in mit Beginn im August des Folgejahres.

Sobald wir eine Vorauswahl getroffen haben, folgt im nächsten Schritt ein zweiwöchiges Praktikum. Dafür erhalten Sie von uns einen Terminvorschlag mit allen weiteren Informationen.

Während des Praktikums lernen Sie die Aufgaben und die Arbeitswelt im Zoo kennen. Sie begleiten unsere Tierpfleger in den Revieren mit unseren verschiedenen Tieren und packen schon richtig mit an. Es ist körperliche Arbeit auf unebenem, teils steilem Gelände und findet zum größten Teil im Freien statt. Entsprechende Kleidung und festes Schuhwerk sind erforderlich.

Im Praktikum haben Sie die Möglichkeit sich selbst zu erproben und herauszufinden, ob der Beruf des Tierpflegers Ihre Berufung werden soll.

Das Praktikum, in dem wir einander kennenlernen, ist auch die Grundlage, auf der wir anschließend die Ausbildungsplätze im Opel-Zoo vergeben.
