Deine Mission

About Wallround

Wallround is headquartered in Berlin, with additional locations in Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Munich, Friedrichshafen, and NRW. Our mission: we turn energy-efficient retrofits for multi-family residential buildings into predictable, lucrative investment opportunities. When it comes to modernisations, the real estate market is often a black box of rough estimates and fragmented processes. We are changing that. Through our integrated platform and streamlined workflow, we transform 'brown assets' into future-proof, high-yield properties.

About the Role

Department: Prod & Tech Functional Home: Automation Reports to: CPO / Head of Product & Technology or designated Engineering Lead Location: Berlin, office-first Seniority: Senior

We are looking for a Senior Software Automation Engineer specializing in low-code automation to help us turn manual, repetitive, and fragmented workflows into scalable automated systems.

You will belong to the Automation Team, but your work will be embedded across cross-functional squads. You will collaborate with Product, AI, Software Engineering, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities and rapidly build automation solutions.

This is not simply a workflow-builder role. We are looking for someone who combines software engineering thinking with low-code execution - someone who can understand complex processes, design robust automations, integrate systems, and know when a low-code solution is appropriate versus when custom engineering is required.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Architecture

  • Design end-to-end business and product automation workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive manual processes.
  • Build reliable, maintainable, and observable automation systems.
  • Design integrations between SaaS platforms, APIs, databases, AI services, and internal applications.
  • Establish reusable automation patterns and components.

Low-Code Development

  • Build production-grade workflows using leading low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Configure APIs, webhooks, triggers, actions, authentication, transformations, and error handling.
  • Integrate CRM, ERP, communication, productivity, AI, and internal systems.
  • Create automation workflows that can be maintained and extended as the business scales.

AI + Automation

  • Combine AI capabilities with workflow automation.
  • Build intelligent workflows using LLMs, classification, extraction, enrichment, routing, and decision logic.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI where deterministic automation alone is insufficient.
  • Partner with AI Engineers to integrate AI capabilities into operational workflows.

Cross-Functional Squad Execution

  • Work as an automation specialist inside product squads.
  • Translate business and product requirements into automated workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to determine the simplest reliable implementation.
  • Own automation initiatives from discovery through deployment and optimization.
  • Act as a technical advisor on automation feasibility and architecture.

Engineering Quality

  • Implement robust error handling, retries, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Document workflows and integrations.
  • Establish testing and deployment practices for automation.
  • Monitor automation performance and continuously optimize workflows.
  • Identify technical debt and migrate fragile workflows to more scalable solutions when required.

Dein Profil

What we are looking for

Essential

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, JSON, HTTP, authentication, and data transformation.
  • Experience integrating multiple SaaS systems.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Ability to translate business processes into technical workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.

Strong Plus

  • Experience with platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, Power Automate, Retool, or similar tools.
  • Experience with REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs.
  • Experience with SQL and databases.
  • Basic Python or JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge.
  • Experience building internal tools.
  • Experience working in a SaaS, startup, or scale-up environment.

Success in the First 6–12 Months

  • Establish a scalable automation architecture and standards.
  • Automate high-impact manual workflows across the organization and product.
  • Build reusable integrations and automation components.
  • Reduce manual operational effort and process errors.
  • Enable product squads to ship automation faster.
  • Create a clear framework for deciding between low-code, AI automation, and custom software engineering.

What you will own

Process Discovery → Automation Architecture → Low-Code Development → Integrations → AI Automation → Reliability → Continuous Optimization

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
