Support student success through inclusive learning services and curriculum-embedded academic skills development.

The Opportunity

At Western Sydney University Library, we are committed to empowering student success through innovative, inclusive and evidence-informed learning support. Working in partnership with students, academics and professional staff, the Library delivers services and learning experiences that build academic skills, digital capability, research skills and independent learning.

Join our Student Skills and Engagement team and play a key role in helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed at university. You will partner with academic staff across disciplines to identify learning needs, with a particular focus on first-year transition and success, and design engaging, curriculum-embedded learning experiences, workshops and targeted support.

You will design, deliver and evaluate inclusive learning support across individual, group, online and curriculum-aligned settings. Covering academic writing, critical thinking, communication, study strategies and AI-enabled learning, your work will help students navigate academic expectations, apply feedback and become independent learners. You will also use student engagement, retention and service data to evaluate impact and continuously improve learning support.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver inclusive academic skills services across in-person, online and curriculum-embedded settings.
  • Build productive partnerships with academic staff to embed learning development in subjects, courses and programs.
  • Strengthen students’ academic communication, digital capability, study habits and independent learning strategies.
  • Connect students with relevant learning resources, programs and specialist services through appropriate referrals.
  • Use student engagement, retention and service data to evaluate outcomes and improve learning support.

Please refer to the Position Description for full details.

  • Experience collaborating with academic staff across disciplines to design curriculum-embedded learning support and improve student outcomes.
  • Familiarity with effective teaching strategies for students from diverse socio-cultural and language backgrounds, and the ability and willingness to travel between campuses as required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
