Job Summary
A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a Western-qualified Consultant Cardiac Surgeon to provide advanced surgical care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The role involves performing cardiac procedures, managing perioperative care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary cardiac teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients requiring cardiac surgical intervention.
- Perform cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting and valve repair or replacement.
- Manage complex cardiac conditions and surgical emergencies.
- Provide preoperative assessment, risk evaluation, and postoperative care.
- Monitor patients following surgery and manage potential complications.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow patient-safety standards.
Requirements
- Medical degree with recognized specialist training in Cardiac or Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Consultant-level qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, FRCS in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Irish specialist registration/CSCST, American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification, Canadian Royal College certification (FRCSC), or Australian/New Zealand specialist fellowship (FRACS), or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Extensive experience in adult cardiac surgery and complex surgical cases.
- Proven expertise in procedures such as coronary bypass and valve surgery.
- Experience in a tertiary hospital or advanced cardiac centre is preferred.
- Strong clinical judgement, leadership, and multidisciplinary communication skills.
