Job Description
SearchPlus HR is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading private hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care, manage a broad range of general surgical conditions, and contribute to high standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of general surgical conditions, including gastrointestinal, abdominal wall, and soft tissue disorders.
- Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures in accordance with clinical expertise and hospital privileges.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and interpret relevant laboratory investigations and diagnostic imaging.
- Develop individualised surgical treatment plans and provide pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care.
- Perform laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures where appropriately trained and credentialed.
- Manage acute surgical emergencies and post-operative complications, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care and achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
- Provide consultations and specialist guidance to other healthcare professionals when required.
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital protocols, clinical governance, and infection-control standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.
- Support the supervision and training of junior doctors and surgical staff, where applicable.
Requirements
UK CCT in General Surgery or American Board Certification in General Surgery.
Substantial consultant-level experience in general surgery.
Demonstrated expertise in managing complex surgical cases and performing a broad range of general surgical procedures.
Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery is desirable.
Strong clinical judgement, surgical decision-making, and patient-management skills.
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
Eligibility for Consultant classification and professional licensing with the relevant Saudi health authorities, subject to applicable qualification and experience requirements.
