We are looking for an experienced Last Mile Head to lead and scale our last-mile delivery operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in last-mile logistics, delivery operations, route optimization, fleet management, service quality, and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for building a reliable and cost-efficient last-mile network while ensuring timely deliveries and an exceptional customer experience.

The Last Mile Head will lead large operational teams, manage delivery performance, establish effective processes, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business and service-level objectives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end last-mile delivery function, including planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery speed, reliability, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage delivery operations across multiple cities, hubs, dark stores, warehouses, or distribution centers as applicable.
  • Lead and mentor regional, city, hub, and field operations teams to achieve business and operational targets.
  • Define and monitor key metrics such as OTD, delivery TAT, first-attempt delivery rate, order productivity, cost per delivery, cancellation rate, and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize delivery routes, rider/fleet utilization, manpower deployment, delivery capacity, and operating schedules.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop SOPs, processes, and governance mechanisms to ensure consistent execution across locations.
  • Partner with technology, supply chain, warehouse, customer experience, finance, and business teams to improve the overall delivery ecosystem.
  • Manage operational escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer and business-critical issues.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality and delivery performance.
  • Build dashboards and review mechanisms to track operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, statutory requirements, and operational guidelines.

Must-Have Skill: Last Mile

  • Strong and extensive experience in last-mile delivery and logistics operations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale delivery networks, field teams, and geographically distributed operations.
  • Strong understanding of route planning, delivery capacity management, fleet/rider productivity, hub operations, and service-level metrics.
  • Ability to design and execute scalable last-mile strategies in high-volume environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to operational decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving delivery efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer experience.
  • Strong leadership, team management, stakeholder management, and execution capabilities.

Good-to-Have Skill: 3PL

  • Experience working with 3PL partners, logistics vendors, fleet operators, or external delivery agencies.
  • Ability to evaluate and manage 3PL performance against SLAs, KPIs, cost, and quality benchmarks.
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, partner onboarding, capacity planning, and performance governance.
  • Understanding of 3PL contracts, commercial models, escalation management, and compliance.
