The posting

Title: Manager Regulatory Engagement Grade: L3 Location: Karachi Company: JazzCash

Be the trusted bridge between JazzCash and its regulators

At JazzCash, digital financial services are more than transactions. They are the foundation that enables millions of people and businesses to pay, send, save and access financial services every day.

As Manager Regulatory Engagement, you will lead JazzCash's legal and regulatory engagement, primarily with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and support engagement with other regulators and public-sector stakeholders as required. Reporting to the Head of Legal Affairs, you will be the link between JazzCash, its internal teams and the relevant authorities.

You will progress licensing and approval matters, resolve regulatory issues and translate regulatory expectations into practical action, using your knowledge of Pakistan's financial services and fintech landscape, sound judgement and a business-enabling approach.

What you'll own

  • Lead day-to-day engagement with SBP on legal and regulatory matters, build credible relationships across SBP departments and other authorities, and represent JazzCash in regulatory meetings, consultations and industry forums.
  • Own material regulatory issues from initial assessment to resolution, preparing briefing notes, talking points and evidence-based positions, and recording commitments, assigning owners and driving timely closure.
  • Lead or support applications for licences, approvals, permissions, no-objection certificates and product clearances.
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory queries, observations, information requests, inspections and reviews, working with Compliance, Risk, Product, Finance, Technology and Operations so submissions are accurate, complete and timely.
  • Advise on the regulatory implications of new products, partnerships, customer journeys and business models across digital payments, wallets, lending, BNPL, insurance and adjacent fintech offerings, joining early so requirements are built into execution plans.
  • Review regulatory correspondence, submissions, undertakings and related legal documents, and provide practical, risk-based solutions that enable responsible business growth.
  • Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments, assess business impact and coordinate internal implementation of new requirements.
  • Contribute to consultation responses and policy advocacy, maintain consistent regulatory messaging and records, update the Head of Legal, senior management and governance forums, and coordinate external counsel when required.

What success looks like

  • Regulatory issues are resolved on time, with commitments closed by clear owners.
  • Licences, approvals and submissions are accurate, complete and timely.
  • Regulatory requirements are built into products and projects from the start.
  • New regulatory requirements are assessed and implemented across the business.
  • Relationships with SBP and other authorities are credible and strong.
  • The business grows responsibly through practical, risk-based solutions.

JazzCash is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Requirements

You may be a strong fit if you

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, public policy, law or a related discipline (equivalent professional experience may be considered).
  • Bring typically 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, with meaningful experience in banking, payments, electronic money, fintech or financial services, in a bank, EMI, fintech, regulated financial institution, regulator, leading law firm or a combination.
  • Have demonstrable experience engaging with SBP and handling regulatory issues, approvals, permissions or licensing processes.
  • Have a strong professional network across Pakistan's financial services and regulatory ecosystem, built through credible, ethical and substantive engagement.
  • Understand Pakistan's legal and regulatory framework for digital financial services and regulated fintech products, with awareness of regulatory priorities, market developments and industry practice.
  • Show strong regulatory judgement, understanding both written requirements and the practical context regulators operate in, and a commercial orientation that protects JazzCash while finding practical routes to responsible growth.
  • Bring strong stakeholder management skills, building trust and handling senior or sensitive discussions with maturity, and develop persuasive positions that align internal and external stakeholders. Write clearly, present confidently and explain complex issues in plain language.
  • Collaborate effectively across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, Commercial, Finance, Technology and Operations, and independently drive multiple matters from assessment to timely closure, with high standards of ethics, confidentiality and regulatory conduct.
  • Are based in Karachi, with flexibility to travel to Islamabad and other locations for regulatory meetings and business needs, and are available for urgent or time-sensitive matters.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
