We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team within the Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS) department.

ELS helps organisations continue using end-of-life Linux distributions, programming language runtimes, and frameworks securely, even after they stop receiving standard security updates.

Our Platform Engineering team is responsible for the department's CI/CD and QA platforms, managing everything from the underlying hardware and infrastructure to the tools and developer experience. The team takes full ownership of platform reliability, quality, scalability, and cost.

This is a hands-on, infrastructure-focused role that combines Platform Engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD, with opportunities to contribute to platform architecture and technical decisions.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning the CI/CD and QA platforms of the department end to end, from hardware and infrastructure through CI runners, build and test environments up to developer experience.
  • Being accountable for the platforms' reliability, quality, scalability and cost.
  • Analysing how the CI fleet and the services around it are actually used, and turning the findings into data-driven capacity, sizing and performance decisions.
  • Improving and automating the tools teams use to build, test and ship, and removing recurring sources of manual work such as flaky tests.
  • Contributing to the platform architecture together with engineering teams.
  • Maintaining service health with monitoring and runbooks. Alerts are written into the existing company observability tenant.
  • Deploying new services following best practices.
  • Supporting developer requests and turning recurring ones into self-service.
  • Managing incidents end-to-end: diagnosis, mitigation, post-mortems.
  • Delivering infrastructure as code through merge-request reviews.
  • Writing technical documentation for engineers across teams.
  • Working with AI agents: delegating tasks and reviewing their output.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Senior-level infrastructure / SRE experience with ownership of production services.
  • Linux systems administration on bare metal and VMs.
  • Kubernetes in production: running workloads and clusters, including upgrades and GitOps delivery.
  • Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform / Terragrunt).
  • Production experience with GitLab CI and CI runners.
  • Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics and Grafana, including PromQL.
  • Technical writing for engineering audiences.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced use of AI engineering assistants such as Claude and Codex.
  • Advanced written and spoken English.

Nice to have:

  • SLO and burn-rate alerting design.
  • MicroVM isolation (Kata Containers, Firecracker, gVisor).
  • Public Cloud experience, including cost optimisation.
  • Self-hosted monitoring systems under load.
  • Python or Go for tooling.
  • GitLab administration.

Benefits

What's in it for you?

  • Stay hands-on technically while working on complex, high-impact engineering projects.
  • Work on challenging Linux, automation, and cybersecurity problems across mature and newer products.
  • Fully remote work with flexible working hours.
  • 24 paid vacation days, 10 national holidays, and unlimited sick leave.
  • Private medical insurance compensation.
  • Co-working and gym/sports reimbursement.
  • Education budget.
  • Opportunity to receive a reward for innovative ideas that the company can patent.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
