The ideal candidate is likely already a serious athlete themselves and combines strong coaching ability with high energy, organization, reliability, and sound judgment.

Requirements
Critical Requirement
This person must be an active runner and be willing and able to run alongside the CEO during training.
This is a core responsibility of the role. The expectation is not simply to prescribe running workouts or coach from the sidelines. Candidates should currently train consistently and be fit enough to comfortably participate in running workouts while coaching. Candidates are not expected to perform strength workouts alongside the CEO; during lifting sessions, the role is primarily coaching.
Ideal Background
Strong candidates may come from backgrounds such as:
- Personal training with a serious running background
- HYROX or hybrid training
- Collegiate athletics
- Strength & conditioning
- CrossFit coaching with meaningful endurance experience
- Competitive running with strength-training expertise
- Military or tactical fitness
- Performance coaching
Certifications are valued, but athletic ability, coaching skill, judgment, reliability, and fit are more important than credentials alone.
What Success Looks Like
This person will effectively operate as a personal performance department of one for the CEO.
There should always be a clear understanding of the current training plan, performance goals, progress against those goals, recovery needs, nutrition priorities, and what needs to happen next.
The role requires someone who takes ownership rather than simply completing scheduled training sessions.
