The posting

LV Petroleum, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Specialist to support workplace safety programs across our travel centers, fuel stations, restaurants, truck services, and other company-operated facilities.

This position is responsible for conducting site inspections, coordinating employee safety training, supporting incident investigations, and promoting compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling extensively, working independently, and partnering with site management to maintain safe working environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across company-operated locations to identify workplace hazards and compliance concerns.
  • Support implementation and enforcement of company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist with OSHA compliance, regulatory inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training for employees and management, including hazard recognition, emergency procedures, heat illness prevention, and workplace injury prevention.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to identify contributing factors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor corrective action plans and follow up with site management to ensure identified hazards are addressed.
  • Support the establishment and ongoing activities of site safety committees.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Human Resources, Operations, and site management on safety-related concerns.
  • Prepare reports summarizing safety findings, trends, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employees to report unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in occupational safety, workplace inspections, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety requirements.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, training, and incident investigations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Travel and Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and out-of-state travel.
  • Ability to walk through operational facilities, stand for extended periods, and inspect indoor and outdoor work environments.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and operational environments.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent safety concerns when necessary.
