The posting

Job Summary:

As a Software Development Engineer II in the CMS Engineering team, you will design and build intuitive, scalable, and reliable web applications that power our content-management platform. You will work on high-impact workflows used by Content Operations teams to create, manage, validate, schedule, publish, and monitor content metadata. This role involves end-to-end ownership of frontend features, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You will simplify complex operational workflows, enable efficient bulk actions, improve search and visibility, and help deliver a fast, accessible, and dependable experience for internal CMS users.

About the Team:

The CMS Engineering team builds and operates critical systems across the content lifecycle, from post-ingestion management through rollout and downstream delivery. Our services process large volumes of content and metadata daily for a global audience, with a focus on reliability, low latency, scalability, and quality of experience. We collaborate closely with Ingestion, Playback, Content Operations, Recommendations, Search, Video Engineering, and other downstream teams to deliver content and metadata quickly and reliably. If you are passionate about distributed systems and the technology that powers large-scale content platforms, this is an opportunity to work on high-impact systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop responsive, accessible, and maintainable web applications for CMS and Content Operations workflows.
  • Build reusable UI components, frontend modules, and patterns that support consistent user experiences across the platform.
  • Simplify complex content-management workflows through thoughtful information architecture, interaction design, and clear user feedback.
  • Develop interfaces for metadata management, validation, publishing, scheduling, bulk operations, entity replication, and content administration.
  • Build search, filtering, reporting, and processing-insights experiences across content, metadata, and asset attributes.
  • Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and asynchronous backend workflows.
  • Handle complex forms, file uploads, tables, pagination, filtering, loading states, validation errors, and recovery flows.
  • Present backend, publishing, transfer, and processing failures with clear and actionable guidance.
  • Collaborate with Backend and Full Stack Engineers to define API contracts, data models, and end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Own frontend quality through unit, integration, end-to-end, visual, accessibility, and performance testing.
  • Monitor frontend performance and reliability using suitable logging, analytics, error tracking, and observability tools.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, incident investigations, and production support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to frontend engineering standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience building and operating web applications in production.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework, preferably React.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser behavior, accessibility, and frontend performance.
  • Experience building complex forms, data tables, search and filtering interfaces, dashboards, file uploads, and workflow-driven applications.
  • Strong understanding of consuming REST APIs and handling asynchronous operations, loading states, retries, validation, and error scenarios.
  • Experience designing and maintaining reusable components and contributing to frontend design systems.
  • Hands-on experience with frontend testing frameworks and practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Familiarity with frontend build tools, package management, code-splitting, bundling, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, feature flags, and production deployments.
  • Comfort with frontend observability, including browser logs, error tracking, performance metrics, and usage analytics.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical approaches and trade-offs clearly.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor others and share knowledge.

Preferred education and experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of experience in backend development

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
