We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join a reputed government healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide specialized emergency care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring rapid assessment, stabilization, and effective management of acute medical and surgical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.
- Perform pediatric emergency evaluations, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill or injured children.
- Manage pediatric emergencies, including respiratory distress, seizures, severe infections, trauma, and dehydration.
- Prioritize patients through effective triage and clinical decision-making.
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations and initiate appropriate treatment plans.
- Coordinate with pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, intensive care teams, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with clinical protocols, safeguarding requirements, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in emergency preparedness, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Recognized medical degree with relevant postgraduate qualifications in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, or Pediatric Emergency Medicine, appropriate to the role.
- Relevant clinical experience at Senior Specialist or Consultant level in pediatric emergency care.
- Strong expertise in pediatric assessment, resuscitation, trauma management, and acute care.
- Current life-support certifications appropriate to the role, such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), where applicable.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department.
- Candidates with UK CCT, Western qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or German Board certifications are encouraged to apply.
