A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified and experienced Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team. The successful candidate will provide specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents, managing congenital abnormalities, pediatric surgical conditions, and emergency cases. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and surgically manage congenital abnormalities and acquired surgical conditions in infants and children.
- Perform pediatric surgical procedures according to the candidate’s specialty, training, and approved scope of practice.
- Manage pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent interventions when required.
- Provide preoperative assessments, postoperative care, and long-term follow-up.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and intensive care teams.
- Communicate treatment plans, surgical risks, and recovery expectations clearly to parents and caregivers.
- Monitor patient outcomes and manage postoperative complications.
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital protocols, patient safety standards, and infection-control requirements.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, clinical audits, teaching, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery.
- Western qualifications preferred, including UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
- Relevant post-specialization experience appropriate to the Specialist or Consultant position.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric surgical procedures and the management of complex pediatric cases.
- Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
