A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist / Consultant Reconstructive Surgeon to join its surgical team. The successful candidate will perform reconstructive procedures to restore function and appearance following trauma, congenital abnormalities, cancer surgery, burns, and other complex conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring reconstructive surgical treatment.
- Perform reconstructive procedures involving soft tissue, skin grafts, local and free flaps, and other appropriate surgical techniques.
- Manage reconstructive cases following trauma, burns, cancer excision, and congenital abnormalities.
- Develop individualized surgical plans to restore function, improve appearance, and enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide preoperative assessments, postoperative care, and long-term follow-up.
- Manage surgical complications and coordinate appropriate treatment.
- Collaborate with plastic surgeons, oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, vascular surgeons, and other specialists as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow hospital protocols, infection-control measures, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, teaching, and continuing professional development.
Requirements
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
- Recognized postgraduate specialist qualification in Plastic Surgery or a relevant surgical specialty appropriate to the role.
- Western qualifications preferred, including UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
- Relevant post-specialization experience in reconstructive surgery.
- Proven expertise in complex reconstructive procedures and surgical wound management.
- Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
