The posting

Meztal is seeking a Systems Administrator & IT SOX Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role combines hands-on systems administration with IT compliance responsibilities, supporting the reliability, security, and integrity of IT systems while maintaining effective controls aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical systems administration experience, a solid understanding of IT controls and compliance practices, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational efficiency and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support IT systems to ensure reliability, security, and operational continuity.
  • Support IT SOX compliance activities, including the implementation, documentation, monitoring, and maintenance of relevant IT controls.
  • Manage and support IT Application Controls (ITACs), ensuring appropriate documentation and evidence of control execution.
  • Assist with IT General Controls (ITGCs), including access management, change management, and IT operations controls, as applicable.
  • Coordinate the collection and organization of supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Identify potential control gaps, operational risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support user access administration, including provisioning, modifications, periodic reviews, and deactivation processes.
  • Troubleshoot system-related issues and coordinate resolutions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, administrative procedures, and relevant IT control activities.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support system integrity and SOX compliance objectives.
  • Assist with remediation activities related to identified IT control deficiencies.
  • Promote consistent application of IT policies, security practices, and internal control procedures.

Requirements

Experience

  • Proven professional experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance activities, including IT Application Controls (ITACs).
  • Experience documenting, maintaining, or supporting IT controls and audit evidence.
  • Familiarity with IT General Controls (ITGCs) and internal control frameworks.
  • Proven experience working with U.S.-based teams or stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of systems administration, user access management, and IT security principles.
  • Knowledge of IT control documentation, testing support, and compliance processes.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
  • Understanding of change management, access controls, and system monitoring practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and compliance records.

Language

  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
