The posting
Agriculture feeds the world. We're building the intelligence that protects it.
Every day, people, vehicles, animals and plants move across thousands of farms. One disease outbreak, one serious injury or one failed audit can stop an operation, sometimes a whole industry. When that happens, finding the right information can take weeks. It should take seconds.
Onside is operational intelligence for agriculture. It's the system of record for the world's most vital industry. Biosecurity, health and safety, workforce, assets, environment and market access all sit on one platform. Dairy, beef, poultry, pork, horticulture, viticulture, bees and aquaculture businesses rely on it across New Zealand, Australia, the United States and Mexico. Onside has been recognised in the Deloitte Fast 50 and Forbes Asia 100 to Watch.
This is our next chapter
This year, we've moved upmarket, launched in the US and made our first company acquisition. Now we're going after something bigger: to become a globally recognised company and the network agriculture runs on, in every market we enter.
This is a rare chance to define a category from the start. You'll decide how the world understands operational intelligence for agriculture, build a brand that farmers and boardrooms trust equally, and help change how data protects the world's food supply.
Requirements
The role
Reporting to the Head of Revenue and working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you'll lead a senior team across PR & Communications, Digital, Campaign, Field and Product Marketing. You'll decide the structure, the hiring and how the team grows.
You'll set a clear, durable strategy, connect our product and market story to enterprise growth, and make the calls on priorities, organisation and investment that will take Onside global.
What you'll own
- The Onside brand - You'll build a brand known around the world, and have the final say on how it shows up, from a farm gate in Canterbury to a boardroom in Arkansas.
- The category - "Operational intelligence for agriculture" is a new concept. You'll make it the standard our buyers measure everyone else against.
- Go-to-market - Customer and market insight, positioning, and how we enter new segments and markets. You'll shape this with Revenue and Product leadership.
- Pipeline - You'll set the plan across brand, product marketing, content, digital, campaigns and ABM, field and events, PR, customer advocacy and partners, and deliver qualified pipeline in ANZ enterprise and the US.
- Launches that land - You'll work with Product so every new capability reaches the market with a story that sticks, and so sales has what it needs to succeed.
- Return on every dollar - You own the budget, the channel mix, measurement and attribution.
What you'll bring
- Experience leading B2B marketing at senior level through a period of scale, ideally in SaaS or tech, with experienced marketers reporting to you
- A track record of building brand and pipeline together, and evidence it moved revenue
- Experience marketing to enterprise buyers in more than one market. US experience is a strong plus.
- Experience defining or repositioning a category
- Commercial rigour. You measure marketing by the outcomes it drives, not the volume of activity, and you're comfortable owning the budget and attribution model.
- A strong, independent point of view on marketing. You lead the conversation with the CEO and revenue team, challenge assumptions constructively, and explain trade-offs clearly.
- Range. You can define the category one day, review an ABM campaign the next, and then decide where not to invest. You're hands-on when it counts.
- Curiosity about the people we serve. Agriculture experience is a bonus, not a must.
