Job Description

This role is responsible for the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) focused team to develop, integrate, and deploy content management and application services, components, and/or applications in Cloud environment.

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.
  • Shares knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the team.
  • Integrate ECM platform features and capabilities (e.g., Doxis, FileNet, OpenText, Documentum) with network/compute/storage management systems for Cloud Service Providers and on-premises Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions into full-lifecycle operational service delivery and project management platforms.
  • Design and build system-to-system integrations between ECM platforms and enterprise/line-of-business applications using SOAP/web services, REST APIs, GraphQL, messaging, and cloud-native services to enable secure, resilient, and scalable content and data exchange.
  • Develop cloud-native ECM and integration components on AWS (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway) backed by managed data services such as RDS for PostgreSQL, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective operation.
  • Develop and maintain security, availability, performance, scalability, continuous improvement, and monitoring of ECM workflow automations, content services, and deployments across a multi-tenant environment.
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for automated build, test, and release orchestration of ECM applications and integration components.
  • Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision, configure, and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure in a repeatable, version-controlled manner.
  • Full life-cycle development, test, and production management for business-critical document/records management applications and end-user productivity on ECM platforms, tailored for manufacturing and engineering, modeling, and data analytic needs.
  • Research vendor application deployment guides and instructions for integrating new products with the ECM platform to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable data access, content services, and information governance as part of core service management systems.
  • Research and prototype technical options using Agile methodologies, and present the pros and cons of prototyped approaches to leadership to support informed decision-making and secure leadership buy-in.
  • Work effectively with ambiguous or incomplete requirements by asking clarifying questions and driving toward a clear, shared understanding of both the problem definition and the proposed solution approach.
  • Redesign recommendations for existing production ECM applications to achieve improved security, and enterprise scalability and resiliency requirements.
  • Take ownership of project requirement development, deployment, and operational release management.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer information management, or High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' work experience in the Information Technology field in addition to ECM experience.
  • Typically, ten years of experience in a SharePoint Developer role required.
  • Typically, ten years of experience in an ECM Developer role required.
  • Experience developing enterprise ECM solutions on Doxis, FileNet, OpenText, Documentum, etc., including content services, workflow/case management, records management, and custom application development, to present efficient and fault-tolerant user interface (UI) design and workflow in accordance with best practices and limitations of the application, databases, content/site ownership features, data retention and loss prevention, backups, and archiving.
  • Experience designing and implementing a custom background handler for a specific project migration (e.g., a FileNet Component Manager task or a Doxis Agent task), including event-/queue-driven processing, error handling and retry logic, and large-scale content/metadata processing during migration.
  • Experience with Java development for enterprise ECM application development, customization, and platform extension.
  • Experience with Python development for automation, scripting, integration, and data processing in support of ECM and DevOps operations.
  • Demonstrated systems/application integration experience designing and implementing reliable, secure integrations between ECM platforms and enterprise/line-of-business systems across a range of protocols and patterns, including SOAP/web services (WSDL, XML), REST APIs (JSON), GraphQL, and messaging/event-driven or batch patterns — covering both producing and consuming services for third-party applications, content services, and ECM platform capabilities across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience with AWS development, including serverless and cloud-native services such as AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway, for building and deploying scalable application and integration workloads.
  • Experience with Amazon EKS/Kubernetes for container orchestration preferred.
  • Experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL (or equivalent managed PostgreSQL) for schema design, secure data access, performance, and operational management.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline development using GitLab (GitLab CI/CD) for automated build, test, deployment, and release management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to provision and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure in a version-controlled, repeatable manner.
  • Experience in data migration implementation plans for both importing to and exporting from ECM platforms, for both on-premises and cloud environments, to support resilient and compliant data integration and hosting.

Location: 9801 Washingtonian Blvd, Gaithersburg MD

Work Site Expectations: 3 days a week in office

Travel Expectations: Up to 10% as needed

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation

Offers within the posted salary range are commensurate with the individual’s qualifications for the position, along with a view on internal equity, market data, and room for growth. The salary range for this position is:

$139,000 - $159,000
