About this Job:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Accounting Manager at our Peterborough, Ontario office. As a key member of our leadership team, the Senior Manager will play a crucial role in driving growth, building client relationships, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage client engagements, delivering high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services
  • Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes
  • Review tax provisions for clients
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and respond effectively to their requests and suggestions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients
  • Stay current on the content and practical applications of tax, accounting, and assurance standards, and know how to access and research professional and technical materials
  • Design and review processes, procedures, and workflows within the department
  • Collaborate with managers and other senior managers for capacity and resource planning

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of success in client service and business development
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance
  • Experience working with Caseware/Caseview, Jazzit, Keystone, Excel, and Profile
  • Advanced Canadian tax knowledge personal, corporate, excise, and advanced knowledge of Canadian GAAPs ASPE and ASNFPO
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior staff
