REQUIRES random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year. The drug test screens for: Marijuana, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine and semi-synthetic opioids: hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone.

About Us

Our precision Machining Operations are successful in CNY because our products are low volume, high mix, and very tight tolerances. Our 80,000 square foot shop houses over 2 dozen CNC machines with a wide range of capabilities including 5 new machines over the last 2 years. We have a full manual machine shop along with precision grind, hone and deburr. Our entire workforce is under one roof including Design Engineering, R&D and Assembly & Test. We were founded in 1918 as Young & Franklin Tool Works on Franklin Street in Syracuse, but we’ve come a long way since then! We manufacture, assemble and test valves and actuators for the Aerospace and Power Generation markets. Position Summary

This position will interpret, apply and comply with TACTAIR and customer requirements as well as standards and other industry documents that control the performance of nondestructive testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Testing to determine product acceptability to engineering requirements.
  • Conduct nondestructive inspections to support manufacturing and business needs as required.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to Level I Inspectors and Trainees.
  • Interpret, evaluate and document test results and generate NDT inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations and provide protection to self and others during testing.
  • Maintain equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed.
  • Maintain inventory control of area supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
  • Documented Level II qualifications in accordance with National Aerospace Standard 410 (NAS410) in Penetrant and Magnetic Particle methods.
  • Hands on experience performing the above processes.
  • Good communication skills, both writing and speaking.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent; Basic computer knowledge and applications.

May include frequent pulling, pushing, and grasping.
  • The primary environment of this position is the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection, and proper footwear.
