By fusing deep expertise in cleanroom electrical infrastructure and piping design with intelligent monitoring, ZeroIgnition creates unified safety ecosystems that identify hazards at the earliest pre-incident stages.

The Company aims to dramatically lower cleanroom false alarm rates, shorten emergency response times, and provide equipment-level autonomous safety intervention for high-value manufacturing operations.

The Role

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will serve as a technical pillar within our R&D division. You will oversee research initiatives across key focus technological areas, spanning thermal imaging, gas analysis, particulate analysis and chemical analysis in lithography environments and data centres.

In addition to driving your own advanced research, you will be responsible for translating high-level R&D strategy into actionable experimental roadmaps and overseeing the research direction and execution of associate engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Research Direction: Lead a dedicated team of associate engineers within your assigned domain (Thermal, Gas, Particulate, or Chemical Analysis).
  • Domain Research Execution: Oversee the R&D roadmap for early threat detection hardware and analytics tailored specifically for Lithography Cleanrooms and/or Data Centre Infrastructure.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate findings across teams to feed unified detection algorithms into our central AI monitoring platform.
  • Experimental Oversight: Design experimental protocols, validate simulation lab test rigs, and verify data accuracy from bench testing.
  • IP Generation: Drive patent applications, technical white papers, and research documentation to protect core intellectual property.

Candidate Requirements

  • Educational Background (Mandatory): Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience Level (Mandatory): Minimum of 10 years of hands-on research and engineering experience with a strong focus in at least one technical track (Thermal Imaging, Gas Spectroscopy/Sensing, Particulate Dynamics, or Chemical Sensing).
  • Research Supervision: Proven track record of guiding, directing, and evaluating the research work of junior or associate engineers.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Technical Capability: Ability to bridge hardware and software concepts—such as physical sensor networks, electrical infrastructure, and machine learning models.
  • Language Proficiency: Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous for local team coordination.
  • Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Hong Kong.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $110,000 USD per annum.
  • Equity Stake: Equity component included to align long-term technical innovation with overall business performance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full health insurance, statutory MPF contributions, paid annual leave, and travel/lab allowances.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
