OVERVIEW We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Financial & Data Analyst to join a UK-based organisation on a fully remote basis. This is a client-facing role responsible for analysing complex financial and business data, uncovering meaningful insights, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations directly to the client's stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted analytical partner — someone who can explain not just what the numbers show, but why things are happening and what the business should do about it. This role requires someone who is analytically minded, commercially aware, and confident using modern tools — including AI — to accelerate analysis and improve the quality of insights delivered to clients. Working hours align with UK business hours (GMT/BST).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse complex financial and business data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
- Investigate discrepancies and inefficiencies, perform root-cause analysis, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Assess financial and operational performance, going beyond the numbers to explain what is driving results and what actions the business should consider
- Prepare reports, forecasts, and performance summaries that communicate insights in a clear, meaningful way — not just data, but the story behind it
- Present findings and recommendations directly to clients in a confident and professional manner
- Build, maintain, and improve dashboards and reporting systems that support ongoing decision-making
- Use AI tools to accelerate analytical workflows, automate repetitive processes, and improve the depth and quality of insights delivered
- Communicate regularly with clients to understand their priorities and ensure analysis remains relevant, timely, and commercially focused
REQUIREMENTS
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a relevant National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or above)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to interpret financial statements accurately — used as a foundation for analysis, not an end in itself
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a track record of turning raw data into meaningful business insights
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including financial modelling and data manipulation
- Experience with a data visualisation or business intelligence tool, such as Power BI or similar
- Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve analytical efficiency and the quality of reporting outputs
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to lead client-facing meetings and present complex findings clearly
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a client-facing analyst, management accounting, or financial reporting role with a strong focus on insight and analysis
- Exposure to working with international clients or within a cross-border business environment
- Experience identifying performance issues, investigating root causes, and presenting recommendations to stakeholders
- Familiarity with additional tools such as Google Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar platforms
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to connect data to business outcomes
- High attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Professionalism and reliability
