Job Description

Kia ora!

Help strengthen the resilience of one of New Zealand's most iconic organisations. As our Resilience Specialist (Business Continuity), you'll play a critical role in ensuring Air New Zealand can continue delivering for our customers, people and communities when it matters most. Your work will help protect essential operations, minimise disruption and build confidence across the business. We welcome candidates who bring strong experience, fresh thinking and transferable skills to help us continue evolving our resilience capability.

Air New Zealand is consistently recognised as one of New Zealand's most attractive employers, with a strong reputation for innovation, customer service and culture. As we continue our journey to build a more resilient and future-ready business, you'll work with teams across the organisation to strengthen business continuity, risk readiness and operational resilience in an environment where your expertise will have visible enterprise-wide impact.

How you'll make an impact

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to understand business priorities and deliver practical business continuity solutions
  • Lead business impact assessments and disruption risk analysis to identify critical functions and strengthen resilience
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve business continuity and disaster recovery plans across the Group
  • Deliver training, awareness programmes, audits and live exercises that improve organisational preparedness and response capability
  • Partner with Digital, Risk, and Emergency Management teams to align resilience strategies and support enterprise objectives
  • Provide expert advice during major disruption events to enable timely recovery of critical business operations
  • Champion a culture of safety, resilience and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience leading or coordinating complex business continuity, resilience, risk, emergency management, or related programmes
  • Experience developing and documenting business continuity, complimenting digital disaster recovery, or crisis management planning
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, business impact assessments and risk evaluation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence and ability to influence leaders, presenting complex information clearly and ensuring business continuity is prioritised accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic concepts into practical, business-focused solutions
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments, managing ambiguity and balancing priorities independently and collaboratively
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience are preferred in Business, Engineering, Science, Aviation, Computing, Risk Management, or a related discipline
  • Qualifications in business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency management, or crisis management will be highly regarded.

If you meet the majority of the criteria and are excited by the opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.

What we can offer you

We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work.

  • Generous staff travel benefits for you, and opportunities to share travel privileges with your friends and whānau
  • FlexiLeave, giving you the option to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave each year
  • A strong learning culture with development opportunities, on-the-job growth, and experiences that help you reach your full potential
  • Access to a wide range of employee discounts, wellbeing resources, Employee Assistance Programme support, and medical cover options
  • KiwiSaver and FlexiSaver retirement savings options with employer matching contributions, where applicable.

Ready for take-off?

If you're passionate about strengthening organisational resilience, influencing meaningful change, and helping Air New Zealand prepare for tomorrow's challenges, we'd love to hear from you. Join a team where your expertise will make a lasting impact across one of New Zealand's most trusted and innovative organisations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
