The posting
As a senior RF hardware design engineer, you will own radio frequency (RF) hardware design, optimization and qualification for ANDREW’s distributed antenna system (DAS), small cell and O-RAN radio unit (O-RU) products. You will develop new radio variants, improve existing products and review RF designs delivered by external engineering partners. This is a hands-on, founding role in our new hardware engineering team in Suzhou, working closely with global system engineering and hardware colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Design and optimize RF transmit and receive chains, including power amplifiers (PA), low-noise amplifiers (LNA), filters, matching networks and transceiver interfaces. Develop radio designs across power classes, frequency bands and bandwidths, for both FDD and TDD operation. Perform RF simulation, characterization and troubleshooting. Optimize RF performance, efficiency, thermal behavior and component cost. Lead RF component substitutions and end-of-life (EOL) redesigns. Review and validate RF designs delivered by external engineering partners against ANDREW requirements. Define RF test requirements and support design verification testing (DVT), production test development and RF calibration. Support regulatory and conformance testing for global markets. Document design rationale and contribute to RF design guidelines and reusable design blocks.
Required Skills:
8+ years in RF hardware design for wireless infrastructure. Strong understanding of RF circuits, power amplifiers, digital predistortion (DPD), impedance matching and RF measurements. Experience with LTE and 5G NR radio products, DAS, repeaters or O-RUs. Experience with both FDD and TDD radio designs. Proficiency with RF simulation tools (such as Keysight ADS or AWR Microwave Office) and lab instruments, including signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers. Solid knowledge of EVM, ACLR, gain, noise figure, linearity and efficiency measurements. Familiarity with 3GPP base station conformance requirements (TS 36.141 and TS 38.141). Ability to review third-party designs critically and communicate findings clearly. Experience working across global, cross-functional engineering teams. Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Required Education and Experience:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience. Experience with Tier-1 vendors or operator deployments strongly preferred.
