Job Description

BryceTech is seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Writer to support U.S. Space Force organizations in El Segundo, California. The Strategic Communications Writer will provide professional writing, editing, and communications support to Government leadership and program teams, translating complex acquisition, programmatic, and technical information into clear, concise, and compelling communications products. The position will support the Strategic Communication Cell through development and editing of executive correspondence, briefing materials, talking points, reports, presentations, organizational communications, and other products used to inform senior leaders and mission stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and coordinate executive-level correspondence, briefings, reports, talking points, presentations, memoranda, and other strategic communications products
  • Translate complex acquisition, programmatic, technical, and operational information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate written products
  • Support the Strategic Communication Cell in developing communications that align with organizational priorities, mission objectives, and leadership guidance
  • Research, gather, and synthesize information from multiple sources to develop accurate and compelling communications products
  • Draft and edit executive communications, leadership messages, talking points, responses to taskers, background papers, fact sheets, and other written materials
  • Review written products for accuracy, clarity, organization, grammar, spelling, tone, consistency, and adherence to applicable style and formatting standards
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts, program offices, Government leadership, and mission partners to obtain information and validate content
  • Develop and maintain communication products and supporting reference materials for recurring leadership engagements, meetings, briefings, and events
  • Support preparation of senior leadership presentations and briefing materials by developing narrative content, key messages, speaker notes, and supporting information
  • Identify complex or technical information that may require clarification and work with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and understandable
  • Manage multiple writing and editing assignments simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and suspense requirements
  • Ensure communications products are appropriately tailored to executive, technical, operational, and external stakeholder audiences
  • Support the development and maintenance of organizational messaging, communication templates, and other standardized products
  • Handle sensitive and classified information in accordance with applicable security and information-management procedures
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and other Government-approved tools to develop professional-quality written and visual communications products
  • Perform other writing, editing, and strategic communications duties as required to support the mission

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field desired
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in technical writing, professional writing, editing, journalism, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex technical, acquisition, programmatic, or specialized information into clear, concise content for non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing and editing executive-level correspondence, briefings, reports, presentations, talking points, and other professional communications products
  • Experience supporting security and policy reviews of communications products and materials
  • Experience developing Communications Messaging Guidance (CMG) documents and related strategic communications products
  • Experience serving as a primary interface with senior Government communications and public affairs organizations, preferably Space Systems Command Public Affairs (SSC/PA)
  • Demonstrated ability to research, synthesize, and validate complex information from multiple sources and translate it into accurate, audience-appropriate communications
  • Strong command of grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, style, and professional writing standards
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating with subject matter experts, program offices, senior leaders, and communications/public affairs personnel to develop and refine written products
  • Ability to tailor communications to executive, technical, operational, and public affairs audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, prioritize competing requirements, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Government organizations, contractors, and mission partners
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment supporting classified space programs
