About the team

You will join Castrol's global Data Center technology team in Wayne, New Jersey, supporting a strategic growth market driven by AI, digitalization and sustainability. The team works across regions and functions to develop and deploy advanced cooling-fluid solutions for data center applications, partnering closely with Technology, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, customers and industry stakeholders. As a Senior Technologist Data Center Fluids, you will act as the regional technical contact for Castrol’s Data Center cooling fluids portfolio in the United States. You will bring deep technical expertise in fluids, product development and technology deployment to help translate customer and market needs into practical, safe and reliable solutions. Working as part of a global team, you will support product performance, technical troubleshooting, new product introduction, customer adoption and innovation in emerging data center cooling technologies.

Key tasks

  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of Castrol’s existing and evolving cooling-fluid portfolio, product characteristics, application scenarios, industry standards and specifications.
  • Advise on new technologies, materials, processes and standards, applying strong formulation and performance knowledge to deliver practical solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Benchmark competitor products and support robust performance evaluations that help define Castrol’s value proposition.
  • Support new product launches and technology deployment, ensuring alignment with global standards, substantiated claims and relevant market or regulatory requirements.
  • Lead complex technical troubleshooting using systematic problem-solving methods, including support for root-cause analysis, quality issues, customer complaints and product documentation.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training to internal teams and customers, and help establish operational, service and maintenance guidelines with technical support teams.
  • Lead or support technical projects and collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain to enable successful product implementation and customer adoption.
  • Research emerging trends in data center cooling, direct liquid and immersion technologies, and thermal management; support new test methods and equipment and represent Castrol in relevant industry forums.

Experience required

  • Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in technical product development and/or technology deployment, ideally involving water-based fluids.
  • Strong capability in problem analysis, experimental design, data processing and technical reporting.
  • Ability to develop technical ideas into practical solutions and support their deployment in real-world applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in an international and intercultural environment.

Preferred experience

  • Hands-on experience with data centers, IT hardware, direct liquid cooling, immersion cooling, thermal management or similar applications.
  • Experience with water-based cooling fluids, industrial lubricants, thermal management fluids or metalworking fluids.
  • Established connections with relevant industry partners, companies, institutes or researchers.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
