Job Description
This position oversees the law library’s operations and processes the library’s interlibrary loan and document delivery requests. This role also coordinates the supervision and work assignments of the library’s student employees. Additionally, the employee serves as the Creighton University Law Review’s administrative coordinator.
This role works on a Sunday through Thursday weekly schedule during the main academic semesters and follows an altered schedule during the summer and break periods. This position reports to the Reference and Instructional Services Librarian.
Duties
- Coordinates the hiring, training, and retention of student employees. Supervises students regarding access services activities. Establishes circulation desk and off-desk schedules. Staffs a service desk as scheduled.
- Coordinates interlibrary loan and document delivery services and stack maintenance activities. Responsible for shelving, labeling, and filing library material. Maintains the academic reserve collection.
- Serves as the administrative coordinator for the Creighton University Law Review, providing administrative and operational support for the law review’s publication activities. Serves as a point of continuity for recurring processes .
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Proficiency with personal computer work and Microsoft Office software required.
- Library experience (including with an integrated library system) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to supervise student workers
- Skilled in creating and maintaining schedules.
- Ability to multitask and work with various stakeholders.
