Job Description
Advises Upward Bound Program participants concerning academic performance, college preparation and college success, financial management, and career counseling.
Identifies eligible program participants; reports and document demographics of target schools, program enrollment, students contacts, matriculation, and other program activities; assist in coordination and supervision of applicable summer residential and academic year components which include overnight and multi-day travel. Assists with the development and delivery of academic, career, and postsecondary workshops for enrolled participants.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and evaluate academic services including workshops, assessments, and tutorial sessions. Including summer programming and Saturday morning classes as applicable.
- Devlop, implement and evaluates appropriate recruitment/retention activities.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation of services and other reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelors’ Degree required.
- 1+ years' experience required; prior advising, university and/or student counseling experience preferred
- Experience in an academic environment
- Knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
