WE ARE HIRING: BARGE MASTER

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Barge Master to oversee and coordinate barge operations in an offshore environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe positioning, stability, and operation of the barge while supervising marine activities and coordinating with vessel crews, offshore teams, and project personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily barge operations, ensuring safe and efficient activities.
  • Manage barge positioning, anchoring, mooring, and stability.
  • Coordinate lifting operations, cargo movements, and offshore construction activities where applicable.
  • Monitor weather conditions, sea states, and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, offshore safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Supervise crew members and coordinate with the relevant vessel and project teams.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments before and during operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and relevant documentation.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and operational challenges.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems are maintained in a safe and operational condition.

Requirements

  • Relevant maritime qualifications and certifications.
  • Proven experience as a Barge Master or in a similar offshore marine supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of barge operations, mooring systems, stability, and offshore safety procedures.
  • Experience coordinating offshore marine or construction activities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding offshore environment.
  • Valid offshore safety certifications as required for the position.
