About DataMap
DataMap.ai is an AI-first technology consulting and solutions company focused on enterprise systems and automation. We build applications, implement ERP platforms, and provide managed services and production support at scale. Our clients include Fortune 500 enterprises and high-growth companies such as Google. They rely on us to modernize operations and automate workflows in ways that produce measurable business value.
DataMap is growing fast. We value innovation and collaboration, we work with urgency, and we reward speed, precision, and accountability. Teams here have the authority to solve complex enterprise problems and deliver results.
Why Join DataMap
At DataMap, projects run the way we expect every project to run in five years, with AI copilots drafting plans, surfacing risks, and writing first-draft status reports. You'll take that setup further by leading the AI transformation of project management across everything DataMap runs, working with DataMap's executive team.
You'll represent DataMap's AI-first delivery with client executives and at industry events, alongside Sales and executive leadership. The flagship AI and automation programs you lead are built on our proprietary products (Positron, RoboApprover, Itemova EDI SaaS) and on enterprise platforms such as Coupa, D365, NetSuite, SAP, and Boomi.
Role Overview
As the Director of Project Management, you lead the project management practice. Project management at DataMap owns the management of all of our work, which covers everything: customer work, partner work, partnership growth, internal projects, and operations projects. That work ranges from partner-platform implementations for enterprise clients and development of the products and customer portals we build and sell to the partnership-growth, internal, and operations projects that make DataMap itself run and grow. You are accountable for the health of the whole portfolio: every engagement and initiative delivered on time, on budget, and with the outcomes it promised. That accountability extends to the governance, standards, and quality gates the practice runs on, and to the PMO's utilization and margin and the growth that delivery generates. You chair executive steering committees and are the escalation point for delivery risk across the portfolio, bringing executive leadership in when needed. With DataMap's executive leadership, you set direction for the practice's methodology and team.
At DataMap, project managers manage the work, grow the accounts they serve, and lead their teams toward business results. Senior Project Managers expand those practices across programs, and you build them into the way the whole PMO runs. You lead others inside the PMO (Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and coordinators) and outside it (the leaders and teams the work depends on in consulting, engineering, QA, and managed services). You partner with Sales and client executives to keep the portfolio pointed at shared outcomes, and you drive change at the organization level in process, structure, visibility, communications, and change management.
You will use AI tools every day and lead the AI transformation of the PMO with the executive team.
Your Growth Path
Project management at DataMap has a defined five-level ladder that runs from delivery support to leading the practice: Project Coordinator, Senior Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Director of Project Management. We post every level and promote from within, and moving up depends on performance and on the needs of the business. Beyond the Director level, the path continues into executive leadership, such as DataMap's Vice President, Operations & Delivery.
This is the top of the project management ladder: you are accountable for the management of everything DataMap runs, and you lead the practice, its people, and its methodology in partnership with executive leadership. The Vice President, Operations & Delivery is part of DataMap's executive team, leads operational strategy and delivery performance, and connects Sales, Delivery, Product, and Support. Directors who show they can lead beyond their own practice may be considered for executive roles like it.
Key Responsibilities
Practice and portfolio leadership
- Lead the management of all of DataMap's work (customer, partner, partnership-growth, internal, and operations work alike), and be accountable for portfolio health, including schedule, margin, quality, and outcomes.
- Lead the PMO's Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and coordinators, and set the standard for how every project is run, led, and grown.
- Lead outside the PMO as well: bring consulting, engineering, QA, and managed services together around shared priorities, decisions, and outcomes, and partner with Sales and client executives.
- Chair executive steering committees, be the escalation point for engagements at delivery, commercial, or relationship risk, bring executive leadership in when needed, and maintain executive relationships across strategic accounts.
Change, process, and structure
- Drive organization-level change in process, structure, visibility, communications, and change management. Diagnose what slows the practice down, set the direction, and drive the change management that makes each practice-wide shift in methodology, tooling, or structure hold.
- Set and maintain the delivery standards, governance, and quality gates every project follows from kickoff to close, drawing on established practice such as PMI's.
- Design the PMO's structure and operating cadence: roles, decision rights, escalation paths, portfolio reviews, and the handoffs between delivery, Sales, engineering, and managed services.
- Run portfolio intake, prioritization, and health reviews, build portfolio reporting (health metrics, dashboards, and early warnings), and manage delivery communications so leadership, teams, and clients work from the same information.
Commercial and team
- Be accountable for the PMO's commercial results: portfolio margin, utilization, forecasting, change-order discipline, and the expansion revenue that delivery generates through new software and service sales across Positron, RoboApprover, Itemova EDI SaaS, partner platforms, and follow-on services.
- Build the lead-to-signature process every project manager runs, with the playbooks and pipeline reporting behind it, so that on active engagements project managers identify leads for new software and service sales, draft the orders (order forms, change orders, and SOW amendments), and get customer signatures.
- Partner with Sales on pipeline, pursuits, and operationally achievable commitments, and contribute to the pricing and packaging of DataMap's delivery services.
- Build the project management team: hiring, onboarding and training, the career ladder, and culture.
- Develop the practice's next generation of leaders, coaching them to proactively engage team members, ask what they're working on, suggest course corrections, and drive business outcomes.
AI-first transformation
- Lead the AI transformation of DataMap's PMO and the way it manages every type of work, including tool selection, methodology evolution, and ROI measurement, with the executive team.
- Set the standard for AI-assisted delivery, including prompt libraries, workflow automation, and AI-driven early warnings on risk and margin, and measure the results in cycle time, quality, and margin.
- Represent DataMap's AI-first delivery in client executive briefings, industry content and speaking, and pursuit support, and lead flagship AI and automation programs built on DataMap's own products.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of project delivery experience, including leading project managers and holding portfolio- or PMO-level responsibility.
- A track record of organization-level change: transformations in process, structure, visibility, and communications that you led to completion and that held, with working knowledge of a structured change management approach.
- A vision for the AI transformation of a delivery organization or PMO, and a track record of carrying one out.
- Proven success chairing steering committees, advising C-level client stakeholders, and leading leaders outside your reporting line.
- Commercial leadership experience with portfolio margin, utilization, forecasting, pricing input, and growing revenue through delivery, including building a delivery-led process that turns project leads into signed orders.
- Demonstrated success building and developing project management teams: hiring, career paths, standards, and mentoring.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Experience
- PMP certification or equivalent experience (PgMP or PfMP a plus).
- Consulting or professional services delivery leadership.
- SaaS and ERP implementations (e.g., Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Salesforce) and integration platforms such as Boomi; Source-to-Pay or procurement depth.
- Experience designing a PMO operating model: governance, portfolio reporting, and a career ladder.
- Experience selecting and deploying AI tooling across a delivery organization, with measured ROI.
- Familiarity with established change models such as Lewin's change model and Kotter's 8 steps; Prosci's ADKAR model, the Bridges Transition Model, or the McKinsey 7-S Framework a plus.
- Public thought leadership: speaking, publishing, or community leadership in project delivery or applied AI.
Benefits & Perks
- Total compensation of base salary plus bonus.
- Unlimited vacation and a flexible work environment.
- Free catered lunch on Fridays at headquarters.
- On-site gym at headquarters.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Health insurance with generous employer contribution.
