📋 Taken en verantwoordelijkheden

Als ICT-expert ondersteun je de modellering van bodemerosie en sedimenttransport naar Vlaamse waterlopen. Daarbij breng je ook de impact van erosiebestrijdingsmaatregelen in kaart met het CN-WS-model. Dit model werd ontwikkeld door KU Leuven en is geschreven in FreePascal met het opensourcepakket Lazarus.

Voor de ruimtelijke weergave van input- en outputgegevens worden rasters in IDRISI-formaat (.rst) met een bijbehorend metadatabestand (.RDC) gebruikt. Deze rasters kunnen worden aangemaakt en ingelezen met IDRISI, QGIS en ArcGIS.

Het deelmodel WaTEM/SEDEM werd eerder via Python geoptimaliseerd, geherkalibreerd en geoperationaliseerd in pycnws. Je breidt het model verder uit met nieuwe functionaliteiten en staat in voor de herstructurering, documentatie en verdere operationalisering binnen de betrokken organisatie.

  • Je voert verbeteringen en uitbreidingen door in de Python-code.
  • Je onderhoudt en structureert de ontwikkelde Python-code in pycnws.
  • Je documenteert de code en de modelwerking in GitHub.
  • Je ondersteunt de verdere inzet van de modellen voor erosiebestrijdingsscenario's in prioritaire gebieden waar sediment naar waterlopen en riolering wordt aangevoerd.

De opdracht draagt bij aan de uitvoering van de stroomgebiedbeheerplannen 2023-2027 en ondersteunt het Vlaamse bodembeschermingsbeleid. De modellering helpt om waterloopsegmenten met een grote sedimentaanvoer en de bijbehorende toestroomgebieden gericht te analyseren.

📝 Jouw profiel

  • Je hebt ervaring met GIS, in het bijzonder ArcGIS en QGIS.
  • Je kunt werken met Jupyter Notebook.
  • Je hebt ervaring met modellering op medior niveau.
  • Je beschikt over kennis van PostgreSQL en PostGIS.
  • Je hebt ervaring met Python.
  • Je hebt ervaring met WaTEM/SEDEM op medior niveau.
  • Je hebt ervaring met de betrokken technologie of een vergelijkbare technologie.
  • Je beschikt over kennis van erosie- en sedimentproblematiek.
  • Ervaring in de publieke sector is een pluspunt.
