The posting

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced Business & Project Analyst - AI & Automation to act as a key link between Business and IT and support the organisation's digital transformation.

The role focuses on identifying and assessing opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and emerging technologies, translating business needs into clear solution requirements, and coordinating technology implementation across the organisation.

The consultant will support business teams in adopting innovative solutions that improve efficiency, operational capabilities, and business performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Business analysis & requirements: Analyse complex business needs, challenges, and processes. Translate business expectations into clear and actionable solution requirements. Identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve business processes and operational efficiency. Assess potential AI and automation use cases based on their feasibility and business value. Act as the key interface between Business and IT teams.
  • AI, automation & innovation: Support business teams in understanding and leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies. Evaluate different AI and automation solutions available on the market. Act as an advocate for AI and automation adoption within the organisation. Apply knowledge of AI technologies to complex business and operational environments. Contribute to broader digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
  • Project management & implementation: Coordinate the implementation of AI and automation solutions across cross-functional projects. Define business expectations and coordinate with technical and implementation teams. Manage alignment between business stakeholders, IT teams, and other project contributors. Support projects throughout the lifecycle, from opportunity identification and requirements gathering to implementation and adoption. Ensure technology initiatives remain aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
  • User adoption & support: Support business stakeholders during the implementation of new technologies. Train and guide business users to ensure effective adoption of implemented solutions. Gather feedback and help identify opportunities for further optimisation.

Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Business & Project Analyst combining strong expertise in business analysis, project management, AI, automation, and digital transformation.

They are comfortable operating at the intersection of Business and IT, assessing the practical and commercial value of emerging technologies and translating complex business challenges into effective technology solutions.

Experience implementing AI or automation solutions within a large, complex or regulated organisation would be particularly valuable.

Mandatory requirements:

  • 14+ years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Professional experience implementing AI solutions within a large organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of different AI and automation technologies available on the market.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Strong Business Analysis experience.
  • Ability to analyse business needs and translate them into technology and solution requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual-thinking capabilities.
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Commercial Engineering, Science, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and/or French.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and with a strong solution-oriented mindset.

Strong assets:

  • Experience implementing AI within a regulated environment.
  • Experience within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or Transmission System Operator (TSO) sector.
  • Knowledge of the Belgian or European energy landscape.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technology implementation projects.
  • Experience using AI and automation for business process optimisation.
  • Experience training and supporting business users in the adoption of new technologies.
