Dit wordt jouw functie Als jeugdbeschermer bied jij hulp aan gezinnen die problemen hebben met de opvoeding van hun kind(eren), door uiteenlopende problematiek. Jij wordt ingeschakeld nadat een kinderrechter een maatregel voor kinderbescherming heeft uitgesproken. Vanaf dat moment neem je de verantwoordelijkheid over de veiligheid van het kind op je, en ga je in gesprek met het gezin. Je hebt als jeugdbeschermer een coördinerende rol. Jouw doel is om met behulp van de juiste hulpverlening de veiligheid van het kind te waarborgen. Daarom overleg je veel met de betrokken partijen en professionals. Tot slot breng je verslag uit naar de rechtbank, waar je met regelmaat zittingen bijwoont over de gezinnen waar jij bij betrokken bent. De werksfeer binnen de Jeugdbescherming is informeel. Je krijgt ruim voldoende ondersteuning van jouw collega’s zodat je je werk op een prettige manier kunt doen. Belangrijke beslissingen over gezinnen bespreek je in multidisciplinair overleg. Als Jeugdbeschermer ga je

- Op huisbezoek bij de diverse gezinnen waar jij de verantwoordelijkheid over hebt;

- Rechtszittingen bijwonen over de veiligheidssituatie van het kind of de kinderen binnen de gezinnen waar het om gaat;

- Betrokken scholen, hulpverleningsinstanties en pleeggezinnen bezoeken;

- Specialistische hulpverlening in gang zetten wanneer dit nodig is;

- De voortgang van gezinnen tijdens de inzet van hulpverlening monitoren;

- Rapporteren naar de rechtbank over de vorderingen van jouw cliënten, gedurende de inzetperiode van Jeugdbescherming.
