Our partner is a Belgian organisation with a strong and evolving IT environment, wherecybersecurity is becoming increasingly strategic.

They are looking for a Security Engineer to strengthen their security team and take an active role in securing the organisation's infrastructure, systems and cloud environment.

But this role goes beyond the technical scope.The long-term vision is to develop the right person towards a future CISO position, giving you increasing exposure to security strategy, risk, stakeholders and decision-making as you grow.

Security Engineer - Your Role

  • Protect and improve the organisation'sIT infrastructure and security environment, covering networks, systems and cloud platforms.
  • Manage and optimisesecurity solutionssuch as firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection and access controls.
  • Investigatesecurity incidents and vulnerabilities, helping identify the root cause and implement effective solutions.
  • Take part incybersecurity projects, from infrastructure hardening to cloud security and new security technologies.
  • Work closely withInfrastructure, Network and IT teamsto identify risks and strengthen the overall security posture.
  • Gradually take on more responsibility aroundsecurity governance, risk and strategy, preparing you for a future leadership role.

Security Engineer - Your Profile

  • 3+ years of experiencein Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, Network Security or a similar technical environment.
  • Strong understanding ofnetwork and infrastructure security, including firewalls, VPNs, authentication and access management.
  • Experience withAzure and/or GCPor another cloud environment.
  • A hands-on mindset combined with a genuine interest insecurity strategy and risk management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ambition to progressively move fromtechnical expertise towards security leadership.
  • Fluent in Dutch, with a good understanding of the other language; English is also required.
