Dierenkliniek Amsterdam has three locations: Westerpark, Rembrandtpark, and Oud West. To give you an idea: Westerpark is the busiest location, while Rembrandtpark and Oud West are smaller and quieter, typically staffed with one veterinary nurse per veterinarian. The team is shared across all locations, meaning colleagues rotate between clinics.
Your role As a Senior Veterinary Nurse, you are the welcoming face and a key pillar of the clinic. You work closely with veterinarians and act as a mentor to junior colleagues. You ensure that every pet owner leaves reassured and every patient receives the highest standard of care. Your day is a dynamic mix of care, communication, and coordination: - The face of the clinic: You welcome clients, handle administrative tasks, and act as the first knowledgeable point of contact. - Communication hub: You schedule appointments, communicate test results, and advise pet owners using your expertise. - Core clinical support: You assist veterinarians during consultations and perform laboratory tests. - Ensuring smooth operations: You manage stock, maintain high hygiene standards, and keep administration in order. - Coaching and mentoring: You guide junior veterinary nurses and contribute to their professional development.
What you bring You are a true team player with a big heart for animal welfare. You know how to reassure anxious pet owners and remain calm and precise, even in busy situations. As an experienced professional, you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others. You also have: - A completed qualification as a Veterinary Nurse and registration in the veterinary register - Proven experience as a veterinary nurse, preferably in a similar role - A visible passion for animal care in everything you do - A client-focused and committed attitude - The resilience to stay calm under pressure while maintaining empathy
