About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager – Cybersecurity to join its Information Security Office. Reporting directly to the Chief Security Officer (CSO), this role will be responsible for strengthening the organization's cybersecurity posture through security engineering, technical assessments, threat management, governance, compliance, and incident response activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical cybersecurity background with hands-on expertise in security implementation, security testing, vulnerability management, ISO 27001 alignment, and information security governance within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Testing (VA/PT), Red Team exercises, and Threat Hunting initiatives.
  • Define, implement, and maintain security baselines and hardening standards across enterprise technology platforms.
  • Assess security risks associated with new systems, business initiatives, and emerging technologies, including cloud, AI, and machine learning solutions.
  • Conduct deep technical assurance reviews across security technologies, including firewalls, EDR solutions, IAM platforms, and other security controls.
  • Oversee and strengthen the incident management and incident response framework.
  • Analyze security incidents and SOC events, support containment and recovery efforts, and lead post-incident reviews.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity simulations and cyber drills to validate organizational readiness and response effectiveness.
  • Support compliance initiatives by validating technical controls against industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure robust security governance and compliance across on-premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to enhance the organization's cybersecurity maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related specialization in Information Security recognized by the UGC of Sri Lanka.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, CHFI, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in information security, cybersecurity engineering, technical security assessments, or related domains.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in security implementation, technical security reviews, and cybersecurity operations.
  • Hands-on experience in Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Testing, Red Teaming, Threat Hunting, and Incident Response.
  • Strong expertise in system and network security administration across diverse technologies, platforms, databases, and operating systems.
  • Experience in cloud security frameworks, security operations, governance, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 27001, ISO 2700x series, PCI DSS, NIST, SWIFT CSP, and other information security frameworks and standards.
  • Experience assessing and validating security settings, configurations, and technical controls.
  • Strong knowledge of security governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
  • Excellent analytical, technical report writing, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments and manage multiple security priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience leading security implementation and cybersecurity transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to enterprise security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, IAM, Firewalls, and Cloud Security platforms.
  • Proven track record in ISO 27001 implementation, alignment, or certification initiatives.
  • Experience supporting security compliance programs within highly regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of emerging cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and mitigation strategies.
