Location: Sri Lanka Employment Type: Full Time Industry: Travel & Aviation

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the growth and operations of a travel technology platform that aggregates NDC, LCC, and GDS content for travel sellers. This is a strategic leadership role with full P&L responsibility, focused on building and scaling a high-performing sales organization, establishing customer support operations, driving market adoption, and representing the platform across the travel and aviation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a dedicated sales team and establish a strong market presence across the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting travel agencies, OTAs, non-IATA consolidators, and TMCs.
  • Drive the complete sales lifecycle including lead generation, qualification, conversion, and account growth.
  • Manage customer retention through structured account reviews, adoption tracking, and proactive relationship management.
  • Establish and oversee a Level 1 support function covering onboarding, user management, and functional troubleshooting.
  • Lead client onboarding programs and training initiatives.
  • Translate complex travel distribution and platform concepts into practical user solutions.
  • Represent the business at industry events, trade forums, associations, and regulatory engagements.
  • Provide regular market intelligence covering competitor activities, industry developments, and distribution trends.
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining full ownership of business performance and profitability.

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in travel distribution, airline commercial management, GSA operations, or travel technology sales.
  • Currently working within a B2B environment.
  • Exposure to B2C travel sales will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience building or scaling sales and support functions from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of airline distribution models including NDC, GDS, BSP settlement, and agency commercial structures.
  • Experience managing business performance with commercial and P&L accountability.
  • Strong business development, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both operational teams and senior executive stakeholders.
  • Established network across travel agencies, OTAs, and TMCs will be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
