Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior NPI Engineer to support the introduction of new products and manufacturing changes. This role focuses on developing and improving manufacturing engineering processes, working with machinery, tooling, and materials, and helping ensure products are produced efficiently while meeting quality standards. You will partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams to drive readiness from development through release to manufacturing.
What you will do
- Facilitate the transfer of information on new products and engineering changes between engineering and manufacturing.
- Plan and execute new product introduction activities across the product development process.
- Manage engineering-to-factory communication for product changes, validation builds, and release-to-manufacturing timing.
- Track action plans, priorities, and implementation progress for NPI activities and product changes.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, procedures, and standard work.
- Work with machinery, tooling, materials, and production teams to improve manufacturability, quality, and efficiency.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering teams to reduce launch issues and support problem resolution.
- Support production readiness by training and providing technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.
- Contribute to manufacturing cost, process, and productivity improvements associated with NPI and engineering changes.
- Support validation builds, customer visits, and other launch-related activities as needed.
How you will do it
- Stay close to the work, listen to factory feedback, and remove obstacles that slow down launch readiness or production performance.
- Work with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain as one team to deliver safe, practical, and on-time outcomes.
- Use fact-based problem solving and continuous improvement to reduce NPI issues and improve processes every day.
- Own your commitments with accountability, clear communication, safety awareness, and integrity throughout the launch cycle.
What are we looking for?
- University degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, new product introduction, or a related technical manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting product launches, process changes, or production transfer activities.
- Knowledge of machinery, tooling, materials, and manufacturing process development.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and track actions through completion.
Nice to Have
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or fire detection products.
- Exposure to electronic CAD, schematic capture, circuit simulation, or related design tools.
- Background with analog, power, audio, or embedded products and systems.
- Experience with validation builds, ECO work, or release-to-manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with UL, ULC, CE, or FCC environments.
What do we offer?
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.
- Engagement in meaningful projects that make a difference.
