This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Content Lawyer (Corporate and Private M&A) based in Canada.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Canadian lawyer to apply their corporate, securities, and M&A expertise in a content-focused legal career. You will create practical, high-quality legal resources that help professionals navigate complex transactions and day-to-day legal workflows. The role combines substantive legal knowledge with strong writing, editorial judgment, and an interest in legal technology and innovation. You will work alongside experienced legal and cross-functional teams to shape and continuously improve a digital legal resource. Your work will directly influence the quality, relevance, and usefulness of practical guidance available to Canadian legal professionals. The position also offers exposure to legal product development, practitioner engagement, and emerging AI-powered tools. With flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on professional development and wellbeing, this role is designed for lawyers seeking meaningful impact beyond traditional legal practice.

Accountabilities:

  • Write, review, and edit practical legal materials, including practice notes, checklists, flowcharts, precedents, and other practice-related resources.
  • Ensure published content remains accurate, current, relevant, and aligned with the needs of Canadian legal professionals.
  • Monitor legal developments, market trends, and evolving practices across corporate, securities, and M&A law.
  • Assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of the content offering and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal practitioners and law firms across Canada, including recruiting contributors and subject-matter experts.
  • Contribute to content strategy, priorities, and the overall direction of the legal resource.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on content and product development initiatives, ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed within established timelines.
  • Support commercial and marketing activities through product demonstrations, training sessions, presentations, and other initiatives.
  • J.D. or LL.B. degree and active membership in good standing with the bar of at least one Canadian province or territory.
  • At least 3 years of professional legal experience in capital markets, securities, and public M&A.
  • Strong practical knowledge of relevant legal principles, transactions, processes, and professional workflows.
  • An established professional network among capital markets, securities, and/or public M&A lawyers.
  • Excellent legal writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, accurately, and concisely.
  • Experience producing or editing client-facing materials, legal publications, continuing legal education presentations, or other professional legal content.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and relationship-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common professional productivity tools.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Experience using AI and large language model tools in a professional setting, including reviewing, validating, and improving AI-generated outputs.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • Competitive base salary, with an indicated range of approximately CAD $96,100–$146,100 for the Toronto location and CAD $90,300–$140,300 within Ontario.
  • Eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
  • Flexible working hours designed to help you work when you are most productive and maintain a healthy work/life balance.
  • Home-based and location-based working options across multiple Canadian provinces and territories.
  • Wellbeing initiatives supporting physical, mental, and overall employee health.
  • Shared parental leave to support employees and their families.
  • Study assistance and opportunities to support continued professional development.
  • Sabbatical opportunities to help employees pursue longer-term personal or professional goals.
  • A collaborative, cross-functional environment focused on legal innovation, technology, and high-quality professional content.
  • Access to country-specific benefits and workplace accommodations designed to support an inclusive and accessible employee experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
