This full-time role is an opportunity for an experienced crane operator to support major, long-term construction projects. You’ll operate a 15-ton rough terrain crane while maintaining a strong focus on precision, safety, and reliable execution. The position requires close coordination with riggers and signal personnel to safely move, position, and secure loads. You’ll be part of a hands-on, team-oriented job site where everyone contributes to keeping projects on schedule. When crane operations are paused, you’ll assist with ground support, tools, and other site activities as needed. The role offers steady project work through December 2027, with prevailing wage compensation based on the project location. It’s well suited to a dependable operator who takes pride in safe equipment handling, teamwork, and high-quality construction work.
Accountabilities:
- Safely operate a 15-ton Tadano TR-150XL-4 rough terrain crane in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site safety requirements.
- Complete daily pre-operational inspections and monitor equipment condition, fluid levels, rigging, and other critical components.
- Identify and promptly report mechanical issues or equipment concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Work closely with riggers and signal personnel to execute lifts safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Read and apply load charts, follow appropriate rigging procedures, and respond correctly to hand signals and other established communication methods.
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA requirements, site-specific safety procedures, and applicable workplace policies.
- Assist with general site duties, tool maintenance, ground support, and other project activities when crane operations are not active.
- Contribute to a professional, safety-focused, and collaborative work environment throughout the project.
- Valid NCCCO certification or equivalent industry/state certification for rough terrain or hydraulic crane operation.
- Demonstrated professional experience operating rough terrain cranes; experience with Tadano equipment is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging practices, signaling procedures, and construction safety requirements.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, precision, reliability, and responsible equipment operation.
- Ability and willingness to assist with general job-site duties during periods when crane operation is paused.
- Dependable transportation and availability to work the required project hours.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks, drug screening, and physical evaluations.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Availability for day and/or night shifts, depending on project requirements.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and work ethic in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Competitive prevailing wage compensation based on project location.
- Kentucky prevailing wage: $41.55/hour base pay + $9.50/hour fringe benefits.
- Ohio prevailing wage, when applicable: $44.14/hour base pay + $16.41/hour fringe benefits.
- Long-term project assignment scheduled through December 2027.
