The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dynamics 365/Power Platform - Techno-Functional Consultant based in Canada.

This is a senior consulting role focused on delivering enterprise solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform. You will bridge business needs and technical delivery, working across discovery, business analysis, functional design, development, integrations, and advanced troubleshooting. The role offers broad exposure to Customer Service, Field Service, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, and Power BI. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and distributed delivery teams to turn complex requirements into scalable solutions. Success requires the ability to move comfortably between functional consulting, solution design, hands-on development, and production support. The position is fully remote and requires availability during Eastern Time Zone hours.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead requirements discovery, stakeholder interviews, workshops, process analysis, and solution-design sessions with business and technical teams.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, non-functional, data, integration, security, and reporting requirements.
  • Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, process flows, data models, integration requirements, and solution designs.
  • Analyze existing processes, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions using native Dynamics 365 and Power Platform capabilities where appropriate.
  • Provide senior functional expertise across Dynamics 365 Customer Service and Field Service, including case management, queues, routing, SLAs, entitlements, knowledge management, work orders, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Design, configure, develop, and enhance Model-Driven Apps and Canvas Apps using enterprise best practices.
  • Design and configure Dataverse tables, relationships, forms, views, business rules, business process flows, security roles, teams, and access models.
  • Build automation using Power Automate, platform-native capabilities, Custom APIs, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Develop and review advanced extensions using C# plugins, JavaScript/TypeScript, Custom APIs, custom connectors, PCF components, and other Dataverse extensions.
  • Determine the appropriate implementation approach across configuration, low-code/no-code, custom development, integrations, and third-party solutions.
  • Design and support integrations between Dynamics 365/Dataverse and enterprise systems using APIs, Azure services, Power Platform connectors, and other integration patterns.
  • Develop and maintain Power Pages solutions for external-facing business processes when required.
  • Design and support Power BI reporting and analytics using Dynamics 365 and Dataverse data.
  • Participate in architecture and solution-design reviews, ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, security, supportability, and platform best practices.
  • Support ALM, environment strategy, solution management, source control, automated deployments, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Lead or support integration testing, UAT planning, defect triage, production deployments, hypercare, and operational transition.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting across configuration, custom code, integrations, automation, security, and data.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to development teams, including design direction, code reviews, troubleshooting, and implementation oversight.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, testers, support teams, and offshore delivery resources.
  • Create and maintain requirements, functional and technical designs, architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, deployment documentation, and support knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience across the required Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform skills.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 CE and its underlying business processes.
  • Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Service, including case management, queues, routing, SLAs, entitlements, knowledge management, activities, and agent experiences.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Field Service, including work orders, incident types, scheduling, resources, bookings, and related processes.
  • Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 security concepts, including business units, security roles, teams, ownership, hierarchy security, field security, and record-level access.
  • Demonstrated business analysis experience within enterprise application implementations or sustainment environments.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, stakeholder-management, facilitation, and process-mapping skills.
  • Ability to distinguish stated requirements from underlying business needs and constructively challenge requirements when appropriate.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, functional specifications, data requirements, and solution documentation.
  • Experience conducting fit-gap analysis and evaluating standard platform capabilities against business requirements.
  • Advanced experience with Model-Driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Business Process Flows, Power Pages, and Power BI integration.
  • Strong understanding of Power Platform environments, solutions, connection references, environment variables, security, governance, and ALM.
  • Hands-on development experience with C# and Dataverse plugins, JavaScript/TypeScript, Dataverse Web API, Custom APIs, and REST-based integrations.
  • Experience with PCF controls and custom connectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of plugin execution pipelines, synchronous and asynchronous processing, transactions, performance considerations, and extensibility patterns.
  • Experience diagnosing issues using platform tracing, plugin trace logs, browser tools, API testing tools, Azure/Application Insights, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations between Dynamics 365/Dataverse and external enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, Microsoft Entra ID authentication, webhooks, service endpoints, and event-driven integration patterns.
  • Experience with Azure integration technologies such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, or API Management is highly desirable.
  • Strong Azure DevOps and Git-based source-control experience.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
  • Strong knowledge of managed and unmanaged solutions, solution layering, dependencies, environment variables, connection references, and deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform Build Tools, Power Platform CLI, and automated solution deployment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with business stakeholders without relying solely on fully documented requirements.
  • Ability to move comfortably between business analysis, functional consulting, solution design, development, and production support.
  • Strong judgment in determining when to use out-of-the-box functionality, configuration, low-code development, custom development, or integration.
  • Strong focus on maintainability and minimizing unnecessary customization and technical debt.
  • Ability to work effectively within a distributed onshore/offshore delivery model.
  • Ability to mentor developers and provide credible technical guidance while maintaining a clear understanding of the business problem.
  • Availability to work Eastern Time Zone hours is required.
  • $88 CAD per hour starting compensation range for Canada-based positions, with actual compensation depending on relevant experience, technical skills, and qualifications.
  • 100% remote work arrangement.
  • Eligibility for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Access to Discount Perks.
  • Opportunity to work across a broad Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform technology ecosystem.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale solution discovery, architecture, development, integrations, ALM, and production support.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
