The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Enterprise Systems Consultant based in Netherlands.

This is a senior technology advisory role focused on helping investors and business leaders make high-impact decisions about enterprise systems and technology operations. You will lead technology diligence and value-creation engagements, often in fast-moving transaction environments where clear judgment and practical expertise are essential. Your work will span enterprise applications, business processes, infrastructure, managed services, data, controls, and operating models. You will assess complex technology environments, identify the issues that materially affect transactions or transformation plans, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. You will work directly with investors, boards, executives, and management teams, communicating technical conclusions in clear business terms. Beyond diligence, you may develop post-close technology roadmaps, support vendor selections, govern transformation programs, or step into interim leadership assignments. The role offers significant autonomy and variety, with opportunities to collaborate with specialists across cybersecurity, data and AI, software, integration, and carve-out services.

Accountabilities

  • Lead sell-side technology diligence engagements, including evidence review, management interviews, buyer-readiness assessments, remediation priorities, and responses to buyer questions.
  • Lead buy-side technology diligence, assessing enterprise systems, infrastructure, organizations, vendors, contracts, technology spend, scalability, resilience, and future investment requirements.
  • Evaluate ERP, warehouse management, WMS, CRM, PSA, and related enterprise applications, including process fit, customization, integrations, data quality, reporting, controls, adoption, licensing, vendor support, and lifecycle risks.
  • Assess end-to-end business processes such as order-to-cash, project-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, month-end close, recruit-to-retire, warehouse operations, fulfillment, and IT service management.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs, management and user interviews, evidence reviews, and operating-metric analysis to identify weak handoffs, control gaps, manual workarounds, data issues, key-person dependencies, and scalability constraints.
  • Assess traditional and hybrid infrastructure, including data centers, colocation, networks, identity, end-user computing, backup, disaster recovery, hybrid cloud, and migration of packaged applications to cloud infrastructure.
  • Evaluate MSP and MSSP arrangements, including service scope, pricing, contracts, service levels, operational performance, transition risks, and governance.
  • Assess IT operating procedures covering service desk operations, incidents, problems, changes, access management, onboarding and offboarding, asset management, configuration management, escalation, and service-level reporting.
  • Identify and quantify material technology investments, including system replacements, deferred upgrades, infrastructure remediation, provider transitions, and additional staffing or capability requirements.
  • Translate technical and operational findings into concise, evidence-based conclusions relevant to investment theses and understandable to senior non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop practical post-close technology and systems roadmaps, and where appropriate support vendor selection, delivery governance, operational improvements, or interim leadership requirements.
  • Collaborate with specialists across cybersecurity, data and AI, product and software, integration, and carve-out services when deeper expertise is required.
  • Contribute to methodologies, benchmarks, training, and service development based on client and operational experience.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience across enterprise systems, IT operations, technology leadership, systems transformation, transaction advisory, or a combination of these areas.
  • Proven experience leading multiple sell-side, buy-side, or comparable rapid technology assessments for private equity, corporate M&A, or portfolio-company environments.
  • Leadership-level knowledge across enterprise applications such as ERP, warehouse systems, PSA, CRM, traditional infrastructure, and managed services.
  • Deep hands-on operating or delivery experience in at least two of these technology domains.
  • Direct accountability for major business-process or systems outcomes, transformation programs, budgets, service providers, or IT operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct process walkthroughs and assess end-to-end business processes across multiple business functions.
  • Practical experience across several processes such as order-to-cash, project-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, month-end close, recruit-to-retire, warehouse and fulfillment operations, and IT service management.
  • Experience selecting, implementing, upgrading, recovering, or rationalizing enterprise systems, with a strong understanding of process and data dependencies.
  • Experience with traditional and hybrid infrastructure, including data centers, colocation environments, and migrations of packaged applications to cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience selecting, transitioning, managing, or materially renegotiating MSP or MSSP services.
  • Strong analytical and financial judgment, including the ability to estimate one-time and recurring technology investments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage investors, boards, executives, functional leaders, and technical teams.
  • Strong ability to distinguish symptoms from root causes and assess whether challenges originate from processes, systems, data, controls, organization, training, governance, or service-provider performance.
  • Ability to work effectively with incomplete information, make uncertainty explicit, and identify the evidence needed to reach sound conclusions.
  • Self-directed, hands-on working style suited to fast-moving, remote client engagements.
  • Experience as a CIO, VP of IT, Head of Enterprise Applications, enterprise systems program leader, technology operating partner, or senior M&A technology advisor is a plus.
  • Experience in professional services, technology-enabled services, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other operationally intensive sectors is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce, professional-services automation platforms, WMS, warehouse operations, or eCommerce is a plus.
  • Experience translating diligence findings into systems roadmaps, vendor selections, implementation governance, or interim leadership assignments is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred; relevant professional experience is valued more highly than a specific degree or certification.
  • Remote position serving clients across Europe.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership across varied technology advisory engagements.
  • Opportunity to work directly with private equity investors, boards, executives, and senior technology leaders.
  • Exposure to complex technology environments spanning enterprise applications, infrastructure, business processes, managed services, and transformation.
  • Opportunity to contribute to both transaction-focused diligence and longer-term value-creation initiatives.
  • Collaboration with specialists across cybersecurity, data and AI, software, integration, and carve-out services.
  • Variety of engagements across industries and business models.
  • Opportunity to influence methodologies, benchmarks, training, and the development of advisory services.
  • Environment centered on service, curiosity, credibility, commitment, and creativity.
  • Flexible remote working environment designed for experienced professionals who can operate independently.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
