The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Instructional Design Manager based in the United States.

This role leads the systems and standards that turn learning products into consistent, high-quality live learning experiences. You will sit at the intersection of learning design, product development, client experience, and delivery. The focus is on facilitation excellence, facilitator readiness, product enablement, and delivery quality rather than traditional curriculum development. You will build scalable methodologies, certification pathways, quality frameworks, and coaching systems that help facilitators deliver with confidence. The role also offers significant client exposure, supporting key engagements and translating client needs into practical learning and delivery solutions. You will work cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment and help ensure learning experiences remain cohesive across products, regions, clients, and delivery formats. The position is remote within the US, with up to 40% travel potentially required for international clients or other business needs.

Accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain scalable facilitation methodologies, presentation standards, quality criteria, documentation practices, and inclusive facilitation guidelines across learning products and delivery modalities.
  • Partner with Learning Design and related teams to translate instructional intent into practical facilitator guides, run-of-show materials, playbooks, and supporting resources.
  • Design and maintain onboarding, enablement, certification, and readiness pathways for facilitators and subject-matter experts.
  • Define readiness criteria and product-specific enablement requirements, while maintaining visibility into facilitator certification, expertise, and delivery readiness.
  • Identify facilitator readiness gaps and recommend targeted enablement, coaching, or remediation approaches.
  • Embed facilitation readiness into product development and launch processes, ensuring new products and major updates have the required guides, resources, standards, and delivery guidance before launch.
  • Support product pilots and early deliveries to identify risks and improve facilitator readiness before broader rollout.
  • Develop quality frameworks, observation practices, evaluation rubrics, and calibration processes to assess and improve facilitation performance.
  • Use facilitator, learner, client, and delivery feedback to identify trends, distinguish individual performance issues from systemic challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and actionable feedback while translating recurring insights into improvements to facilitation methodology, curriculum, onboarding, and enablement.
  • Track quality indicators and communicate delivery trends, risks, and opportunities to learning and product leadership.
  • Partner directly with clients and internal client-facing teams to understand delivery requirements and provide guidance on learning experience, facilitation, and program execution.
  • 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, facilitator enablement, training, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience delivering live, interactive learning across virtual, hybrid, and in-person environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing facilitator onboarding, enablement, certification, or train-the-trainer programs.
  • Experience evaluating facilitation performance through structured observation, coaching, performance rubrics, and feedback systems.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and the relationship between instructional design and effective live facilitation.
  • Experience designing scalable enablement pathways, quality frameworks, evaluation rubrics, certification standards, and facilitator-facing resources.
  • Strong coaching and feedback skills, with the ability to identify both individual development needs and broader systemic quality issues.
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and inform continuous improvement.
  • Strong judgment in balancing instructional design integrity with the realities of adaptive, live delivery.
  • Experience collaborating across Learning Design, Product, Operations, and Delivery teams.
  • Ability to influence standards and drive adoption without direct people-management authority.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex instructional concepts into clear, practical guidance.
  • Experience supporting learning programs across multiple regions, cultures, or delivery environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience in a consultative, advisory, training, or learning-delivery capacity.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility, understand client needs, and confidently recommend learning and facilitation solutions.
  • Comfortable working across virtual, hybrid, and in-person settings and traveling internationally when required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPTD or equivalent instructional, facilitation, or coaching credentials are highly desirable.
  • $70,000–$100,000 annual compensation, plus an annual bonus opportunity.
  • Fully remote US-based work environment.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible employees who enroll in benefits.
  • Term life and AD&D insurance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Additional voluntary benefits and commuter benefits.
  • Wellness programs.
  • 401(k) plan or non-qualified deferred compensation plan.
  • Accrued paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and continued learning.
  • An open, collaborative environment that encourages new ideas and alternative approaches.
  • Opportunity to influence learning quality, facilitator capability, client experience, and scalable delivery practices across a broad portfolio of learning experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
