This is a strategic technology leadership role overseeing an enterprise Salesforce program and related business applications across multiple functions. You will shape the platform strategy, roadmap, governance, and operational execution while connecting technology investments to business outcomes. The role combines people leadership, stakeholder management, program delivery, and technical oversight in a highly collaborative environment. You will lead Salesforce administrators and developers while coordinating with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and external partners. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide standards, improve adoption, and deliver scalable, secure solutions. You will manage complex priorities, budgets, contracts, and initiatives while balancing immediate business needs with long-term platform strategy. The role is remote, with approximately 10% travel, and offers significant opportunities for professional growth and cross-functional impact.
Accountabilities
- Own the Salesforce program strategy, roadmap, governance, and operating model across supported business areas, translating business priorities into scalable, secure, and user-focused technology solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce administrators and developers, establishing priorities, setting expectations, supporting professional development, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Act as a primary technology partner for functional and program leadership, facilitating discussions around priorities, roadmaps, risks, requirements, delivery status, and change management.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, resource plans, Statements of Work, vendor relationships, licensing, renewals, and technology services associated with the Salesforce program and related applications.
- Lead major enterprise application projects, including Salesforce configuration, integrations, enhancements, and other initiatives, applying effective planning, risk management, dependency coordination, and reporting practices.
- Provide technical oversight by partnering with developers, administrators, engineers, and architects to resolve complex issues and ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and architectural standards.
- Establish and promote governance frameworks, standards, communities of practice, and best practices for enterprise applications and platform management.
- Lead training sessions, demonstrations, Q&A forums, and office hours while overseeing documentation, operating procedures, training materials, and data stewardship practices to drive adoption and effective system ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or multi-sector applications used across multiple business units, functions, or programs.
- Strong experience translating business requirements into technology initiatives, prioritizing competing demands, and aligning application strategies with measurable business outcomes.
- Proven project, program, portfolio, or product management experience, preferably involving enterprise software or application delivery.
- Experience managing or implementing Salesforce or comparable CRM and business development platforms is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives, functional leaders, program managers, developers, and administrators.
- Experience leading training, Q&A sessions, communities of practice, or other technology and process-change initiatives.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and dependencies.
- Experience leading remote teams and coordinating geographically distributed stakeholders.
- Formal people-management or structured mentorship experience is preferred.
- Experience managing technology budgets, Statements of Work, vendors, contracts, or external delivery partners is preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies and enterprise application governance is preferred.
- PMP certification or equivalent program and portfolio management experience is preferred.
- A continuous-learning mindset and willingness to develop expertise in Salesforce and related enterprise technologies are essential.
- Base salary range of $133,200–$199,800 annually, with actual compensation based on experience, education, skills, responsibilities, and market conditions.
- Potential eligibility for overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonus opportunities, depending on the position.
