This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Market Access and Reimbursement based in the United States.
This remote role supports market access and reimbursement initiatives across a multi-state North Central territory. You will serve as a subject-matter expert on U.S. healthcare reimbursement, helping teams navigate coding, coverage, payment, and contracting considerations. The position plays a direct role in improving patient access to innovative medical technologies and products. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Regulatory, and Strategic Development teams. The role combines field engagement, education, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will also help translate complex reimbursement concepts into practical guidance, tools, and value-based messages for internal and external stakeholders. Travel of up to 40% is expected across the assigned territory and throughout the United States.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as a reimbursement subject-matter expert for Sales teams and their agencies, providing education on U.S. coding, coverage, payment, contracting, and reimbursement considerations.
- Deliver reimbursement training through in-person sessions, virtual meetings, and on-demand consultations.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and Regulatory teams to anticipate market needs and support the development of customer-facing resources, economic models, and reimbursement tools.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to identify and prioritize customer engagements, providing education and value-based messaging designed to support patient access.
- Develop and execute market access, reimbursement, and value-based strategies aligned with broader commercial objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with physician champions and other key stakeholders who can support payer and intermediary interactions.
- Support the execution of field reimbursement initiatives and broader market access strategies.
- Monitor reimbursement-related opportunities and challenges across the assigned territory and provide relevant insights to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure activities comply with applicable policies, regulations, and organizational compliance standards.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining responsiveness and a strong sense of urgency.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory and, when required, other areas of the United States.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare delivery or administration, health insurance, medical devices, or a closely related healthcare environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree or other advanced qualification is a plus.
- Experience in orthopedic medical devices and/or field reimbursement is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of medical device billing and coding, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10.
- Detailed understanding of payer coverage requirements, prior authorization, claims submission, adjudication, and appeals processes.
- Knowledge of U.S. healthcare policy, payment systems, and contracting methodologies, including Medicare and commercial payers across inpatient, outpatient, physician office, ASC, and HOPD settings.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus.
- Ability to explain complex reimbursement, coding, coverage, and contracting concepts clearly and effectively to both individuals and groups.
- Strong customer service, account management, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams, establish priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively to functional and cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing business requirements.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and analytics or business intelligence tools.
- Strong communication skills, responsiveness, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record and ability to travel throughout the United States by air, train, or vehicle.
- Salary range of $136,000–$170,000.
