The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PEO Business Analyst based in the United States.

This role supports underwriting and operations by turning complex data into accurate, actionable insights. You will work extensively with large datasets from vendors, insureds, and internal systems to identify discrepancies and strengthen data quality. The position combines hands-on analysis, reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement across critical business functions. You will build recurring reports, dashboards, and performance metrics that help underwriting, operations, finance, actuarial, and leadership teams make informed decisions. The role also provides an opportunity to develop expertise in the PEO and workers’ compensation sectors through mentorship and continuing education. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders while bringing a fresh perspective to reporting and data processes. The position requires 5–10% travel throughout the year and can be based out of High Point, NC; Lawrenceville, GA; Charlotte, NC; Nashville, TN; Birmingham, AL; or Meridian, MS.

Accountabilities

  • Reconcile large datasets across vendors, insureds, and internal systems, investigating discrepancies and resolving variances.
  • Analyze payroll, premium, claims, and operational data to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
  • Create dashboards, performance metrics, and data visualizations for underwriting, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to support the timely and accurate delivery of data.
  • Partner with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and operations teams to improve data quality, reporting, and business processes.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement through data analysis.
  • Document reporting procedures, data validation processes, and controls to promote consistency and accuracy.
  • Participate in 5–10% travel to vendor locations and the home office throughout the year.
  • Engage with mentors to build knowledge of the PEO and workers’ compensation industries.
  • Pursue continuing education in data analytics, including relevant professional or AI and data certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field; Business or Finance degrees are also considered when combined with relevant data experience.
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, business analysis, reporting, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and Databricks.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, and data modeling.
  • Experience reconciling large, complex datasets and maintaining a high level of data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable reports and insights.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, vendor management, and follow-through skills.
  • Commercial insurance, PEO, or workers’ compensation experience is preferred, with training available for candidates who bring strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of information with accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • Willingness to continue developing expertise through mentorship and professional education.
  • Ability to work from one of the designated locations in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama/Mississippi.
  • Sponsorship is not offered for this role.
  • Salary determined based on the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the candidate’s skills, education, credentials, training, and experience.
  • Opportunities to develop specialized knowledge in PEO and workers’ compensation.
  • Mentorship and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Support for continuing education in data analytics, AI, and related disciplines.
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams spanning underwriting, actuarial, finance, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to data quality, reporting improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • 5–10% travel throughout the year to vendor locations and the home office.
  • Multiple eligible office locations across the United States.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
