This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal, Program Manager - Technology Strategy & Enterprise Integration (Flexible location) based in the United States.
As a Principal Program Manager, you will lead strategic technology, data, analytics, and enterprise integration initiatives supporting critical asset management decisions. You will translate complex business needs into clear technology requirements while influencing enterprise programs from early design through implementation and adoption. The role combines strategic program leadership with hands-on expertise in data strategy, AI/ML, governance, analytics, and technology integration. You will help strengthen data foundations and decision-support capabilities that improve maintenance prioritization, risk reduction, grid resilience, and operational efficiency. You will also champion the adoption of enterprise AI/ML tools, coach teams, and identify high-value use cases that improve productivity and decision-making. Success requires strong cross-functional leadership and the ability to collaborate with technology, data, analytics, asset management, and business stakeholders. This is a hybrid role with remote flexibility and occasional conference travel, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on safety, reliability, and customer service.
Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with enterprise programs and partners across asset knowledge management, data and analytics, IT, enterprise AI, risk management, and related functions.
- Translate asset management needs into clear business, data, technology, and integration requirements while engaging enterprise initiatives early.
- Develop and maintain data strategies covering data foundations, quality, governance, AI/ML readiness, and effective use of enterprise data capabilities.
- Lead initiatives that improve decision-support tools for maintenance prioritization and work bundling, with a focus on maximizing risk reduction and operational value.
- Guide the adoption and effective use of enterprise AI/ML tools, including identifying high-value applications and coaching team members on their use.
- Partner with enterprise data and analytics teams to guide the development and adoption of data products, analytics solutions, and visualization tools.
- Collaborate with major infrastructure and technology programs to influence requirements, architecture, data definitions, and design decisions while ensuring successful integration and adoption.
- Lead feasibility assessments, business case development, project scoping, solution evaluation, delivery strategies, and prioritization of major initiatives.
- Establish program goals, performance metrics, and priorities while maintaining alignment with broader organizational objectives.
- Provide strategic updates and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional and cross-utility project teams and influence industry, regulatory, and technology decisions.
- Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in relevant forums and contribute to regulatory and industry discussions.
- Anticipate complex challenges, develop innovative solutions, and provide strategic leadership on high-impact initiatives.
- Coach and mentor less experienced employees while strengthening organizational capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent expertise.
- Advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of complex systems, enterprise data infrastructure, and technology-enabled strategic decision-making.
- Experience with large datasets, data strategy, data governance, and the management, training, or application of AI and/or large language models.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analytics is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead large, complex, cross-functional programs and technology deployments.
- Strong project and program management capabilities, with PMP certification preferred.
- Ability to develop compelling business cases using complex business environments, data, and stakeholder inputs.
- Strong understanding of energy and/or electric utility industry processes, regulatory requirements, strategic priorities, and operational challenges is preferred.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to address complex or sensitive issues with diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically as required.
- Competitive salary range of approximately $137,000–$232,000 annually for California locations.
- Bay Area salary range of approximately $144,000–$244,000 annually.
- Eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation programs.
- Hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely and/or from an assigned company location based on business needs and candidate preference.
