The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Director (Public Sector) based in Canada.

This is a senior technology sales leadership opportunity focused on growing strategic relationships across Canada's public sector. You will work with federal, provincial, and municipal organizations, helping technology and business leaders identify solutions that support their priorities and improve outcomes for citizens. The role combines new business development, consultative selling, relationship management, and strategic account growth across a defined territory. You will engage directly with senior decision-makers, including C-level executives, and deliver tailored presentations aligned with their organizational needs. Success requires disciplined pipeline management, consistent prospecting, strong sales execution, and the ability to translate technology challenges into compelling business value. You will work in a collaborative, modern sales environment supported by coaching, training, marketing resources, and research expertise. This is a remote position based in Ottawa, Ontario, with travel required for onsite client meetings and an uncapped commission structure.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive sales of a broad portfolio of technology research, advisory, consulting, and related services to prospective and existing public-sector clients.
  • Build and execute a consistent monthly prospecting and lead-generation strategy targeting relevant buying centers within the assigned territory.
  • Leverage marketing leads, online resources, sales tools, and warm outreach to generate qualified opportunities and secure client meetings.
  • Develop customized PowerPoint presentations and sales materials that address the specific priorities and challenges of target audiences.
  • Conduct high-quality sales presentations and appointments while demonstrating strong product knowledge and following established sales methodologies.
  • Manage opportunities efficiently through the full sales pipeline, maintaining momentum and progressing prospects toward successful outcomes.
  • Build and maintain trusted, value-driven relationships with technology and business leaders at the C-suite and organizational levels.
  • Collaborate with research teams and relevant analysts to strengthen sales presentations and provide additional expertise when appropriate.
  • Provide leadership with ongoing customer and market feedback to support improvements in sales effectiveness, marketing initiatives, products, and innovation.
  • Participate actively in regular sales coaching, departmental training, and professional development activities.
  • 10+ years of successful sales experience serving technology and business leaders within the public sector, with a demonstrated history of achieving sales results.
  • Proven experience selling technology-related products or services within Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal government environments.
  • Previous experience working within Ontario, particularly the Ottawa and Toronto markets, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling IT research, advisory, consulting, or related professional services is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong consultative and value-based selling skills, with the ability to understand client challenges and connect them to relevant solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Excellent listening, critical thinking, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets, with strong pipeline discipline and business development capabilities.
  • Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and comfortable working in a flexible, rapidly changing environment.
  • Intellectually curious about the role of technology in business and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for onsite client meetings.
  • Valid driver's license and valid passport or enhanced driver's license for travel within Canada.
  • Ability to obtain Canadian Federal Government security clearance, including a requirement to have been a resident of Canada for at least 5 years.
  • Suitable home office setup for effective remote work.
  • Competitive base salary with uncapped commission potential.
  • Fully remote work arrangement based in Ottawa, Ontario.
  • Opportunity to work with federal, provincial, and municipal public-sector organizations across Canada.
  • Yearly trip opportunity for top-performing sales professionals.
  • Regular one-to-one coaching with a manager.
  • Ongoing departmental sales training and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborative and modern sales environment focused on continuous learning and career growth.
  • Opportunity to build senior-level relationships and influence technology initiatives within the public sector.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
