The posting
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Google Ads Strategist based in United States.
This is a senior paid search opportunity focused on generating qualified leads and measurable business results for local and service-based businesses. You will independently manage a portfolio of approximately 20–30 Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts, typically with monthly budgets of $2,000–$4,000 per account. The role requires strong strategic judgment, particularly when working with small budgets, seasonal demand, and limited conversion volumes. You will own campaign structure, bidding, keywords, ad copy, budgets, tracking, and landing page recommendations while proactively identifying performance issues. A major focus will be on diagnosing root causes, using accurate year-over-year comparisons, and turning performance data into clear actions. You will document your work, develop repeatable processes, and share insights that improve both client outcomes and team expertise. The ideal candidate is an analytical, proactive Google Ads specialist who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and focuses relentlessly on qualified leads and revenue impact.
Accountabilities
- Independently manage a portfolio of approximately 20–30 Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts.
- Own account strategy and execution across campaign structure, budgets, bidding, keywords, negative keywords, ad copy, and landing page recommendations.
- Optimize Google Search campaigns with a strong focus on qualified lead generation and measurable client business outcomes.
- Monitor lead volume, cost per lead, lead quality, conversion tracking, and other performance indicators proactively.
- Identify performance changes and address issues before they become client concerns.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to determine whether performance changes are driven by tracking issues, search queries, bidding, landing pages, competition, seasonality, or account changes.
- Prepare written weekly analyses and revision plans for priority accounts, clearly explaining recommended changes and expected outcomes.
- Review actual performance against previous recommendations and use the results to refine future decisions.
- Use appropriate year-over-year comparison periods to account for seasonality and distinguish meaningful trends from temporary fluctuations.
- Make informed day-to-day account decisions while escalating weekly priority-account revision plans for manager review before implementation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of account changes, decisions, rationale, and outcomes.
- Convert repeatable solutions and successful approaches into standard operating procedures.
- Share useful findings, testing ideas, and performance insights with the wider team.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve campaign efficiency, lead quality, tracking accuracy, and client revenue contribution.
- 5+ years of hands-on Google Ads experience, with strong expertise in Search campaigns and lead generation.
- Demonstrated experience generating leads for local businesses, service businesses, or similar customer segments.
- Google Ads should be your primary area of specialization, with the ability to independently manage Microsoft Ads accounts.
- Proven experience managing multiple paid search accounts simultaneously, particularly in an agency or freelance environment.
- Strong analytical judgment when working with small budgets and low conversion volumes.
- Ability to determine when available evidence supports a decision and when insufficient data requires further testing or observation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose conversion tracking issues and investigate performance anomalies.
- Ability to learn and work effectively with new analytics, advertising, and reporting tools.
- Excellent documentation habits and the ability to clearly explain strategic decisions and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal English skills for internal collaboration, written analysis, and occasional client communication.
- Proactive and ownership-oriented approach, with the ability to identify issues, raise concerns early, and act without waiting for a detailed task list.
- Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Availability for at least four hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time; the typical Ads Manager schedule is 7 AM–4 PM ET.
- Experience managing Google Ads for home-service contractors is a plus.
- Strongest consideration given to candidates with proven Search-led lead generation experience.
- $3,500–$4,500 per month.
- Fully remote work.
- Full-time employment.
- Performance bonuses paid in May and November, with bonuses of up to 10% of annual salary based on KPI achievement.
- 15 days of paid time off during the first year, with one additional day added for each subsequent year.
- PTO allowance includes sick and personal days and is prorated based on start date.
- Paid holidays including New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and the Christmas Eve–New Year period.
- Company closure during the final week of the year.
- Significant autonomy and authority to manage assigned advertising accounts.
- Collaborative management environment focused on informed decision-making.
- Opportunity to work across diverse local and service-business accounts with seasonal demand patterns.
- Strong focus on innovation, efficiency, attention to detail, measurable results, collaboration, and client satisfaction.
